A soft smile tugs at my lips, because he’s right. Somehow, after months of knowing each other through my sister and the club, we’ve finally found ourselves where we were always meant to be.

“It’s perfect,” I whisper, pressing a soft kiss to his lips, then turning and doing the same to Hayden who raises a brow. “Just saying, this is perfect.”

“Yeah it is, babe. Utter perfection.”

As soon as the words leave Hayden’s mouth, banging on the door, hard enough to rattle the glass panes, sounds out beforethe door is kicked in and two deputies with guns raised walk in like they own the place.

“What the fuck?!” Marx yells, standing so abruptly his chair falls to the floor.

“Every one on the floor! Get down, get down!” one of the men yells, waving his gun around.

“What the fuck do you think you’re doing Deputy Norton?” My brother roars, looking more pissed than I’ve ever seen him.

The man hesitates when he lays eyes on Moss, then they widen when he spots Joy and her daughter sitting next to Switch.

“Everyone hands where I can see them! I need you all on the floor, hands behind your backs!” The other deputy yells, this one close enough for me to read his name: Ryan.

“We have children you fucking douche canoe!” Blanche growls.

He turns to face her, gun drawn, pointed directly at Blance who, instead of looking scared, looks even more pissed now. “On the floor, bitch, I won’t ask again.”

Blanche stares him down before complying, ushering the kids to her side. Tav nods at his Ol Lady from the other side of the table then swings his gaze to Ryan, looking ready to kill the man where he stands.

“Everyone on the fucking floor NOW!” Ryan’s buddy, Norton growls, seeming to have found his balls now. Not that it matters as the women start to move to the floor while the men stand their ground.

“Get on the floor, baby. It’ll be OK,” Zane says gently, taking my hand and guiding me to a spot on the floor. He runs his hand over my head before murmuring, “I’m gonna kill these fuckers.”

If he doesn’t then I’m sure mom will for ruining her dinner. Trying not to get the giggles at the thought I turn my head andmy gaze catches on Chewy with a huge grin on her face. OK then, looks like things are going to get a little crazier.

He’s going to die.

I don’t know who is going to kill him, but I know someone will.

“Office Ryan, can you tell me why the fuck you’re storming in here waving a gun around?” Moss barks and for the first time I can see why he was chosen as interim sheriff.

He always comes across as congenial, thoughtful, and pretty good at paperwork, so I figured he was given the position because of his admin skills. But it seems that under that laid back facade, he’s got a power to him that shocks me.

“I’ve come to arrest Sidney Tombs, on suspicion of murder in the first degree.” Ryan says, gun still in the air.

“Who did I murder?” Pops asks.

Better question may be whodidn’the murder. But I keep that to myself.

“What evidence do you have?” Fox places his gun on the table where Ryan can see it.

Norton’s eyes flick to Moss, then Fox before swallowing. “Does it fucking matter? He’s a criminal, so are all of you.”

“Yes it matters!” Moss yells, leaning over the table, palms spread on the dark wood.

“I can’t reveal my source. It’s none of your business anyway, this shit is higher than you,” Ryan adds smugly, nowhere near as nervous as Norton.

Someone snorts before a laugh bursts out. “Did you just hit your boss, theSheriff, with ‘it’s none of you business’? Oh Officer Ryan, I’m almost a little embarrassed for you.”

“Mira, shut the fuck up,” Ryan sneers.

“You don’t tell my woman to shut the fuck up,” Tank growls, moving to stand from his position on the floor.
