Stacey met my burning gaze, and then looked back at Enit. “You created a mate bond with the human. You’re pining away without him.”
Enit gasped. “I don’t understand.”
Stacey softened her voice. “You mated the human. We need to find him, or you’ll die.”
Enit tore herself from the bed, running into the bathroom and locking the door.
In my shock, I just let her go.

Frost
Something was wrong, but everyone was pretty tight-lipped about it. It didn’t help that everyone was off doing crap during the summer break and I was stuck on campus, so I had nothing else to obsess over. I mean, it could have been worse after I got caught. I could be dead or in a dank cell somewhere. But Stacey had been right—Enit was too soft to let that happen.
Speaking of which, Enit and her two mates were stepping out of their house right now, and I lifted my hand in greeting. Enit looked pale. Well, paler—on a good day she already looked like a snowball in the sun.
I moved to meet them, but a girl stepped into my view.
Somehow—and honestly, this shit was as surprising to me as it was to everyone else—I was catnip for supernatural girls. They wanted to climb me like I was a damn tree, and it was a surreal experience.
“Hi, Frost. I just wanted to invite you to my party on Friday night.” The girl stepped closer, her body almost pressed against mine.
I took a small step back. “Uh, thanks, uh…” Fuck, I’d forgotten her name.
“Teesha.”
“Oh right, stupid human brain.” I slapped my forehead. “Unfortunately, I can’t leave the Academy grounds, you know?”
She was definitely a barnacle shifter, because she was stuck to my ass once again. “That’s okay. We’ll have it in the woods at the back of the grounds.” She fluttered her eyelashes. “Or we can skip it altogether and have a party in my dorm room.”
Holy crap. The desperation level of this chick was about to go supernova. Still, I didn’t want to be rude. “Look, you’re really hot and stuff, and I’m sure you go off like a cat in a sack in the bedroom, but you’re not really my type.”
“Because I’m a shifter?”
“Because you’re desperate and easy.”
Teesha’s face went bright red. She opened her mouth to probably give me a tongue lashing, and not the kind she wanted to give me, when a throat cleared, and Teesha looked over her shoulder.
“Oh look, it's the losers.” She looked up coyly at Bohdie. “Except you, Bohdie.”
With a speed I couldn’t fathom, Bohdie’s hand was around her neck and he was squeezing lightly until her eyes bulged. “Enit is my mate. Stacey is my Packmate. You will not speak about them in that manner ever again. Do you understand?” he growled, and Teesha nodded. He let go, and I swear to god, she licked her lips at him and sauntered away slowly.
I mean, no shade to Teesha, because damn bitch, I got it.
“Not going to lie, that Alpha shit makes me hard as a rock. Choke me, Daddy,” I cooed and then cracked up laughing at the look of absolute horror on his face. None of them laughed; they were all wound so tight, they were about to explode.
I needed them relaxed.
I wrapped my arm around Enit, and she nuzzled into my chest. It was a completely innocent gesture, but it didn’t help the hard ache of my dick. Enit was unlike the rest of the supernaturals, and I think it was possibly because she was an Omega. She was distracting.
She melted into my arms and I held her tight. Looking over her white head, I gazed between Bohdie and Stacey.
“What's up? Why do you guys look like someone just kicked your puppy?”
It was Stacey who spoke. “What do you know about shifter relationships?”
A lot, but I played dumb. I’m pretty sure it would be awkward for everyone if they realized how much I knew about the shifter world. The internet was a highway of forbidden knowledge, you just had to know how to navigate the dark alleyways.
