God, I wanted to kiss them both.

The longing to be with them both made my heart clench.

Instead of trying my luck and ruining everything, I rolled my eyes and moved out of their embrace. “It’s what friends do.” I needed a distraction. Stat. Thankfully, I remembered I had the best type of one. “Wait,” I called as I rushed back to the car. “I almost forgot.” I grabbed the bag and brought it over to them, holding it out to Eve. “Before I leave for Australia, I wanted to get you both something. It’s just something small.” I quickly turned to Tech. “Sorry I didn’t get you anything.” He smirked and waved me off. “But, uh, yeah, this is like a thanks for putting up with me while I’ve been here and don’t forget about our friendship while I’m not here.”

I wish you both cared about me like I do you.

My feelings had grown so big, they were taller than me.

They were the best people I knew, and I knew a lot of great folks.

Quake and Eve were just different than anyone else.

How fucked up was it that I’d found my people who I could fall for, yet they’d never see me in that way?

And I’d never come between them.

Besides, I couldn’t pick. I’d be greedy and want both.

Eve opened the box the frame came in, which was blank, so it didn’t give anything away until she pulled it out and saw the image of the three of us.

“I know it’s goofy, but I really like that picture of all of us.”

Eve’s watery gaze met mine, and she hugged it to her chest. “It’s perfect.”

I scoffed, waving her off while my heart spasmed at her sweetness. “It’s nothing really.”

“It’s a great gift, Rom,” Quake said.

Eve nodded. “It’ll go on the television stand in our room.”

I saw Quake’s body jolt before he swung his gaze down on Eve. “Our room?”

Eve faced him, tipping her head back. “Yeah. If the offer to move into your room is still available.”

“Fuck, sweetheart, yes. A million times yes.” He looked at us and back down to Eve.

“Go, sweep her off her feet and take her to the room, you caveman,” I teased, trying my hardest to ignore another pang to the chest.

Quake grinned and did just that. He picked her up and walked her inside while I watched them go.

“So,” Tech drew out, “how long you been into my sister and Quake?”

CHAPTER EIGHTEEN

ROMANIA

I snorted and coughed. “What? Ha, no. Where are you pulling that from?” I scoffed and started for the door myself. “You’re crazy.” How had he seen this? Was I that obvious? Oh shit, did they know? Did anyone else? I had to hide it better.

“Want to come with me to see those birth pricks?” he asked. Aww, he was being sweet and changing the subject.

He probably saw my pure panic and wanted to ease my emotions.

Still, I had to be sure this subject would be dropped before I either shit myself or vomited from worry that I’d been too obvious with Eve and Quake. I never wanted to ruin anything for them.

Spinning around, I raised a brow and asked, “Are you going to talk to me about feelings?”

He smirked. “Not if you don’t want me to.”
