But with Soren, I am going through the whole process.
“How badly?” I push.
“Bad enough that if it weren’t for the time limit we have in this storage room, I would turn you around, press you against the wall and just fuck your little hole until you scream my name. Loud enough for everyone outside to hear.”
His words almost make me hard again. Oh, how I wish. “Then we have something to look forward to,” I say, instead, trying to sound innocent.
When I blink up at Soren, his lips tug into a devilish smile. One of his hands slips under my shirt, moving to one of my nipples and tweaking it. I gape at the sensation. “We have,” he says, removing his hand and taking his glasses from the shelf.
I am almost annoyed at myself for teasing him instead of just asking him to take me home. If only, so he won’t change his mind. When he turns around, however, to take my hand and smile at me, it doesn’t matter anymore. He has officially introduced himself as my boyfriend to my brother, his best friend. He isn’t just going to run from me, no matter what my self-doubts and insecurities might be telling me sometimes.
“Do you think I should send a message to the guy?” Robin asks me, turning around from the passenger seat to look at me.
“The blond one you flirted with?” I ask.
He nods.
“Yeah, he seemed very interested in you,” I say.
“What do you think, Soren?”
Soren hasn’t let go of my hand the whole evening, unless we were eating or drinking, or when one of us needed to use the restroom. “I am with Leo on this. The guy was sweet and seemed to be into you.”
“Aspen?”
Aspen shrugs. “I don’t know what to say,” he admits. “It’s your decision.”
Robin looks grumpy. “This is not helping.”
“You still have two votes for yes,” I say.
“True.” He moves his phone to his lips and chews at the edge. He seems to be hesitating, but then nods. “I guess I will give him a call tomorrow.”
We arrive at his place first. He lives in a small house with a little garden. When he jumps out of the car, the head of an ostrich pops up behind the fence. “What’s that?” I ask.
“His pet ostrich,” Soren chuckles. “Apparently, it imprinted on Robin when it was born. Robin had to feed it to keep it alive.”
“Cute.” I smile, watching how Robin pets the ostrich and waves at us.
I wave back, while Aspen steers the car away from Robin’s house and drives further into the city. “I feel weird that you are both sitting at the back,” he complains. “Makes me feel like a taxi driver.”
“That’s ayouproblem,” Soren says. “Because I am not giving up my place next to Leo.”
Aspen groans while Soren pulls me into a playful kiss to prove his point. He tastes like whisky sour, the last drink he had, and I just realize I could taste him forever. I want to soak it all up. Only the fact that my brother is driving stops me from straddling his hips and kissing him like there is no tomorrow.
“Okay, babe,” Soren says. “I have a late shift tomorrow. I can pick you up at 9.30 a.m., or do you want to sleep in?”
“No,” I say. “I prefer to see you.”
His eyes light up. “We can go, pick up Barkley from his sleepover and have breakfast.”
“I’d love that. You are going to a farm later that day, right?”
“Yes, it’s a long drive. I will need to stay the night, but the moment I am back, I will come for you.”
I grin. “Good.”
“You can reach me via text,” he adds. “I won’t have much signal, but it should be enough for texting.”
