We rode more rides. I gave them more ammo to use against me in the future—those rides were not my thing. But I rode every single one of them anyway, praying for my life and theirs with each new adventure.
We ate cotton candy, corndogs, and the largest turkey legs I’d ever seen. We drank copious amounts of beer, which was honestly the only reason I kept agreeing to get on those damn rides that I was convinced would collapse into a heap of metal every time we got on one.
Overall, the night was actually kind of fun.
Around midnight we made it to the very back of the fair and wandered into an area that I was pretty sure we weren’t supposed to be. There was a big tent set up, but no one was around. We shouldn’t be here. Inside there were stands setup and three round stages in the center.
I felt a shiver run down my spine.
“Hey, cool. There’s going to be a circus here tomorrow. Can we go?” Brady asked staring up at me like a hopeful child.
“And tomorrow night is the big rodeo. We have to see that,” Cruz added.
I groaned. “You guys do realize we’re here to work, right?”
“Yes, gramps. We know,” Brady chided sarcastically.
“Whatever. Let’s get out of here. I’m pretty sure this place doesn’t open until tomorrow.”
“Yeah, but it’s fun being where we aren’t supposed to be, isn’t it? A thrill of sorts. Man I miss this feeling. It’s just like when we’d sneak onto Collier land to run, knowing damn well we shouldn’t be there.”
“And we shouldn’t be here either. Let’s go,” I insisted.
Much to my surprise, they listened.
I stopped at the door of the tent and turned to look back. Was someone there in the shadows? Another shiver ran down my spine and the hair on my arms stood up.
“Hello?” I called out, but no one responded.
I shook my head feeling like I was being watched, and ready to get the hell away from there.

Chapter 4
I stood in the shadows watching three handsome men poke around. It wasn’t uncommon. No one had time to monitor the place and the couple of security guys we did have just wandered the grounds only stopping by every few hours to make sure no one was doing nothing they shouldn’t be doing.
One of them in particular drew my attention the most. I couldn’t stop staring at him. I’d never seen a man so gorgeous before, not in real life.
If that’s what men on the other side looked like, sign me up right now.
The muscles straining the sleeves of his shirt were clearly defined. He had a hard-set jaw line that made me want to get close and trace it with my tongue.
I nearly burst out laughing at myself just considering that. What an odd thing to think.
My heart was racing like I was the one doing something wrong when they were clearly the ones that shouldn’t be here.
He stopped and looked back. I swear he was looking right into my soul.
“Hello?” he called out.
The timber of his voice vibrated through my body all the way to my toes.
I held my breath and stayed perfectly still, but I was disappointed when he turned to leave. My wolf even whimpered in my head.
Who was he?
Where did he come from?
