I moved up his body and cringed when I reached five broken ribs. I could feel my energy starting to wane, but I pulled what I needed from my wolf and together we mended them one by one.

Kelsey came over to see me.

“I have one left, a teen boy with a shattered arm. Lucy, he’s never even shifted. We have to save him, but I’m worn down from the others. I need your help.”

“But I have to save Micah. He should have woken up, but he’s not.”

“Is he stable?” she asked me.

I nodded hesitantly.

“Let me see.” Kelsey held her hands out above him and then smiled. “He’s going to be okay, Lucy, but this kid won’t be without our immediate help.”

I nodded. “Okay. It’s what Micah would do.”

“I’ll stay with him, Lucy,” Shelby said.

It took every ounce of strength I didn’t feel I had to walk away from him.

“I need you fully focused, Lucy,” Kelsey said.

“I know what we have to do.”

I reached for her hand and held it tightly in mine. Together we merged our powers and concentrated fully on his arm. I could feel the shards begin to bind together. It took a lot of concentration as we couldn’t afford to miss even one sliver or else this boy may never get a chance to shift. We couldn’t let that happen.

Everything inside me screamed to go back to Micah, but I pushed it down and forced myself to focus. It took us over half an hour, but the worst was over. It was still broken and would take days, possibly weeks to fully heal, but we had managed to reconnect the pieces and set the shattered bone.

“He’s going to be okay,” Kelsey said as she sat back and wiped sweat from her brow. “I couldn’t have done this without you.”

“Lucy?” I heard Micah say.

I turned to find him leaning on Shelby as they walked slowly towards us.

“Missed his ankle,” she said with a grin.

“Sit him down,” I said turning back to the boy and checking him thoroughly one last time.

“He’s good. We did it. Now go tend to your mate,” Kelsey said.

I hesitantly walked back to Micah, but when he winced in pain as he knocked his foot trying to sit down, I ran to him and dropped down beside him.

“Where?” I asked.

“Inner ankle,” Micah said through gritted teeth.

I cursed under my breath when I felt it. How the hell had I missed it?

I closed my eyes and let my powers resurface. I was exhausted from the healing, but this was Micah and I had to give it everything I had.

“You’re a healer?”

I cringed not wanting to look up at him.

He jerked as a bone slid back into place.

“Sorry,” I muttered.

“Hey, it’s okay. I’m okay,” he tried to say.
