With an evil grin, I kissed her pouty lips.
Her arms wrapped around my neck as I lifted her and then backed her against the wall. When the cool tiles hit her back, she arched right into me, exactly where I wanted her.
In this new position I wasted no time easing her down on me as I took her hard against the shower wall.
Her moans spurred me on.
The scrape of her nails down my back made me heady in a powerful way.
Being with Lucy made me feel invincible. It was the one place in my life I knew without a doubt that I belonged. A few days away from her had made me see that clearly and I didn’t want to go another day without her.
“You’re mine,” I told her with a growl as I started to feel myself coming unhinged.
“Yes!” she cried out.
I could feel her tightening around me and I kissed her as her body began to quiver. I couldn’t hold out much longer. One thrust, two, and I was following her over that cliff into ecstasy.
Despite my shaking limbs, I continued to hold her as our heartbeats began to slow.
Neither of us said a word. We just stood there. My body pressed against hers as hot water rained down on us.
Two hearts beat as one as we stared into each other’s eyes.
I may not have physically marked her, but I’d claimed her none-the-less. The dynamic shift drawing us closer was tangible. This was it.
Quickly, I grabbed a bar of soap and started lathering it across her body. Her little murmurs and mews told me she was still very much turned on and I could already feel myself growing hard again.
She took the soap from me and returned the favor. I loved the feel of her hands running across my body.
By the time we were clean I wasn’t even sure I was going to make it to the bed before making her officially and forever mine.
Lucy
Chapter 15
Standing there drying off in his bathroom, I couldn’t stop grinning. I should be nervous, but I wasn’t. Almost losing him had reminded me just how short life could be. There were a lot of things I was still uncertain about, but Micah wasn’t one of them.
After Vada was born, I’d made a promise to her and myself that I wouldn’t make rash decisions, that I’d think through my choices thoroughly, and not act emotionally. I had to do what was right for her.
I stole a glance at my mate. If he wasn’t what was best for the both of us, then I didn’t know what was.
Micah was so much more than I’d ever dreamed possible. He was kind and nurturing. He loved openly and wasn’t afraid to show affection. That wasn’t only to me, but to my daughter as well.
When he looked at her, he didn’t see an abomination. He didn’t see a broken, irreparable kid. He just saw her. He lit up when he saw her and I had no doubt that he was going to be an amazing father and protect her as his own.
He walked over and wrapped his arms around me. As I watched us in the foggy mirror, he started kissing me down the column of my neck and across my shoulder, then back until at last he stopped and sucked hard on one spot.
My stomach twisted with excitement knowing that was where he was going to mark me to seal our bond forever.
Nerves? Nope. I was filled with excitement and hope.
My canines started to elongate in anticipation, and I smiled showing him through the mirror.
He gasped and then growled. It was the sexiest sound I’d ever heard.
My phone dinged.
Just ignore it, Lucy. This is too important of a moment.
