You’re warm, kind, funny…beautiful.’He tightens his hold on me, making me gasp with pleasure. ‘And you’re alsoincredibly sexy.’
I nod. ‘I’ll take that.’
‘Glad to hear it,’ he murmurs with a wicked smile. ‘Now,much as I love our conversations, there’s a time and a place for discussions –and this ain’t one of them. Come here.’
His blue eyes are full of intensity, making everynerve-ending in my body seem to sing with joy. He wraps his arms around me andat last, my mouth finds his, and we kiss with all the longing and passionthat’s been simmering away between us ever since we first met. I’m crushedagainst him, feeling things I’ve never felt with any other man, and if itwasn’t for the worry that the spirit of Jane Austen could appear at any moment(or Fen and Tavie), I’d be wrestling Noah to the floor and doing all manner of thingsthat would certainly not have been acceptable in a ballroom in days gone by…
We break away at last, a little out of breath.
Still held tightly against him, I lay my cheek against hischest, and I feel his lips brush my hair.
I raise my eyes to his, and he smiles down at me andmurmurs, ‘Jenny Wilkes in the ballroom with Cupid’s arrow. Slaying this poor,innocent man with all her devastating charms.’
‘That’s very corny. But I like it.’ Laughing softly, I reachup and cradle the back of his neck, bringing his head down so I can touch hislips. ‘And I likethiseven more.’
Our kiss this time lasts forever. And then we dancetogether, and another of my life-long dreams comes true.
I smile happily as Noah spins me around, then grasps mebefore I over-balance.
