“What if I want to have sex?”

“Do you?”

“I don’t know.” At least she was telling the truth, it was written all over her face.

“Exactly. Until you do know, no sex, but that doesn’t mean we can’t cuddle, kiss and enjoy each other’s company.”

“Okay.”

She was lucky his phone rang, or she’d have seen just how much fun cuddling would be with him. Instead, he pulled the phone out of his pocket. It was Chase. He hadn't expected to hear from him until the morning.

“It’s my old team leader.”

“The one who lives in Florida?”

“Yeah.”

“Do you want me to leave?”

John shook his head no as he answered the call. “Chase, thanks for getting back to me. But it’s late there, tomorrow would have been fine.”

“Your message sounded urgent.”

“It still could have waited until morning.”

“You’ve got me now, so tell me what’s going on.”

“I have Ari here with me, I’m going to put you on speaker. It’s her story so she can fill in any blanks.”

“Hi, Ari. I’m sorry you’re going through all this,” Chase’s deep-voice echoed in the small kitchen.

“Hi Chase, John’s told me a little about you. Thank you for helping me.”

“It’s what we do. So, what can I help with from three thousand miles away?”

“Actually, we’ll probably need help from Alex and Rock. They’re your computer dudes, right?” John said as he grinned at Ari, hoping to keep her calm.

“Yes, they’re both top-notch.”

“We’re hoping they can figure out where some emails have come from.”

“That’s kid stuff. No problem. You mean the FBI couldn’t do it?” Chase sounded as surprised as John was when Colin told him.

“That’s what I’ve been told. It seems weird but they haven’t been able to so far. Do you think they can remote into her computer and look around? We’ll also forward the emails.”

“No need to forward them, they’ll take a look when they get in there.”

“Great, I appreciate it. Is it going to be a problem to do it tomorrow since it’s Saturday?”

“It shouldn’t be. I’ll text you in the morning and we’ll set up a time. If Alex can’t do it then Rock will. Either way, we’ll figure it out.”

“Thank you, Chase. I really appreciate it,” Ari said, sounding like herself again.

“It’s what we do for family and John is like family to me. Ariana, can you tell me what’s going on?”

John grinned. “Thanks again, Chase. I hope Faith isn’t ready to take my head off since I bothered you on a Friday night.”

“No worries, she’s used to this.”
