Tears welled up in her eyes and spilled down her cheeks. He was her dream come true. The man of her fantasies had become her reality and she’d go through it all again just to end up in his arms.

“I love you too.”

His lips rubbed against hers, enticing her to open. His tongue swept her mouth and rubbed against hers. Her toes curled and her body tingled with desire. She couldn’t wait for her damn ribs to heal so they could finally make love. But until then she’d be content to stay wrapped in his arms.

“Damn, Baby. You’re killing me. How much longer until those ribs are healed? I want all of you.”

Ari gave him one of her crooked smiles. It was funny that they were both thinking the same thing. “The doctor said about four more weeks.”

“Shit. I don’t care what else is going on, but four weeks from today, I am taking you to bed and we will be there a while,” he said with a huge smile.

“No objections from me,” she said as she stared into his beautiful green eyes. “As long as I’m with you, I’ll be happy anywhere.”

Mr. Darcy woofed.

“And with you, Mr. Darcy, always.”

It had been a hell of a year, but when Ari called to tell him that she’d found the SD card everything had been worth it. He’d rushed over to her apartment, after all this time he didn’t want to wait any longer to see if he could uncover the FBI mole.

It took the IT guys a couple of hours to unencrypt the card. He’d been pacing back and forth for so long he was surprised he hadn’t worn a path on the floor. When they finally got it unlocked and opened the files, he couldn’t have been more surprised. Everything that had been fucked up suddenly made sense, and he couldn’t have been more pissed off.

Placing a call to the director, he sent the contents through encrypted email. It didn’t take long for him to get the go-ahead. Taking two other agents, they went up to his boss's office and knocked on the door.

“Guess what we finally found?”

Special Agent in Charge Richard Landau looked up from behind his desk. He must have seen something in Colin’s eyes because the color drained out of his face.

“What did you find?”

“The missing SD card. How could you betray your country like this? You almost got Ariana and her friend killed. Hell, did you kill Chen yourself?”

“You don’t understand…”

“No, I don’t, and I don’t actually care. You’re under arrest, you have the right to remain silent…”

As Colin watched the other two agents lead his boss away in handcuffs he finally breathed a sigh of relief. He doubted he’d ever understand how Landau had turned, the betrayal he felt rocked him to his core. But at least he’d been stopped, and he could close this chapter. For now, it was time for a celebratory drink.
