I didn’t want to get out of bed, and I didn’t really have to. The library wasn’t open on the weekends. It was officially my day off. I yawned and stretched. Felix nuzzled my neck, and Reyson was gone. Where was he? And what was that smell? Something delicious was coming from the kitchen.

I threw a robe on and padded out with Felix. Reyson was in my kitchen with a vast spread on the table. It looked and smelled amazing. He beamed up at me from an entire side of pig.

“Hello, my witch. I made breakfast.”

“You certainly did. It looks awesome.”

Gabriel and Balthazar stumbled in next.

“Oh, holy shit,” Gabriel sighed, looking at the food.

“It’s not blood, but even I can say that looks amazing.”

“Did you need to eat?” I asked.

Vampires could eat human food, but they needed blood pretty often. Balthazar flashed his fangs at me.

“I nipped a bite when I was spying on the hedge witches. But if you’re offering…”

We could talk about that later. We needed to talk about what we learned. I knew why Gabriel was with us now. I was seeing why Balthazar was too if he could locate the hedge witches like that.

“Were they where they were supposed to be?”

He just gave me a toothy grin.

“They always are. The hedge witches weren’t responsible. They were helping a sister witch because she was into the D she was getting. It was Dorian Gray.”

I let out a little growl. Fucking Dorian. Now I felt terrible for smashing cockroach Hettie. Almost. She totally would have brought Reyson straight to Dorian like he wasn’t an actual person without opinions, and she would have led him directly here if we had let her walk out of here. As it were, I still didn’t know when Dorian and Silvaria were going to come back looking for Reyson.

“We figured that much out. One of the board members made a deal with the spirits here to sneak him in. Oh, my Lilith, Reyson! This is the best food I’ve ever eaten.”

The pig was tender with just the right amount of fat, and the eggs were so fluffy. I didn’t take Reyson for being able to cook himself. I always just thought he had people to do that for him. He might have acquired the ingredients by magic, but I could see the dirty dishes. He cooked this himself. He just winked at me.

“I have my uses, and you worked up an appetite last night.”

Right when I was coming over to his side, he announced to everyone I had sex last night. Gabriel was focused on his food. Balthazar looked like he hoped Reyson would say more, and Felix seemed quite proud of himself.

I wasn’t ashamed of myself. It was hot as shit. When Reyson burst through my door, I thought I would have a god tantrum on my hands, and Felix would insist on his own bedroom after that. When I realized he was sporting an impressive boner and wanted to watch, I was all for it as long as Felix was.

When I said it was impressive, it was almost worth going there knowing he had all these ideas about marrying me.Almost.I had a big thing about not fucking with people’s heads. I might think it silly Reyson thought we were going to get married, but it was something he really believed, and he was trying his hardest to get me to feel it too.

I sighed. Ididlead him on. I invited him into my bed to sleep with us,and I liked it.For being God of Chaos, he snuggled like a total beast. Note to self, no more snuggling with Reyson, even if I liked it. I wouldn’t be that woman.

I needed to push that out of my head. I didn’t need to be thinking about that at all. It was becoming clear why everyone was here with me, and I needed to make use of their skills. Balthazar probably got up to some shady shit if he could find a coven location. It was perhaps shady shit for a good cause, or the library would have kicked him out.

I still trusted the system. Yeah, a few spirits helped Silvaria sneak Dorian in because she made them a promise, but they had no reason to help me. I was actively working against her now that I knew the truth.Somethingwas trying to help me. Whether it was the good spirits of the library, fate, or some other cosmic force now that Reyson was involved, I didn’t know, but I would use all my resources.

Silvaria was going down. She was my big lead to find out what was going on. I didn’t know if Dorian or Silvaria was the ringleader of all this, and I didn’t care. I was coming for both of them and I needed Balthazar for that.

“Balthazar, I’m thinking you’ve got some skills that aren’t exactly legal.”

He just winked at me.

“I’m kind of like the vampire Robin Hood. I only break the law in good ways.”

“Could you get into the board member’s computers? You could start with Silvaria and go from there.”

Balthazar cracked his knuckles and grinned.
