Did they just not do magic at all to keep up the ruse? I couldn’t imagine that. I couldn’t imagine doing that to your child either. I didn’t have a problem with humans, like many of the supernatural community did, but supernatural primary school differed greatly from what they taught humans.

I offered to be her witchy tutor, and Beyla was all for it, but Kaine would only agree to weekends. She was in some pretty intense ballet lessons and, by all accounts, was very talented. I didn’t want to infringe on that.

After they left, I stuck my head in to check on Bram and Talvath. Talvath was still out, and Bram had fallen asleep watching over him. I slipped out quietly. Bram was still recovering and needed to sleep. I knew Kaine was chomping at the bit to talk to them, but he was just going to have to wait.

The only reason I cared about Talvath was because he might have the answers we needed to stop an all-out war. Bram had told me all about him, so I knew Talvath treated him well and didn’t do any of the horrible things other demons did to their Hellhounds, but that didn’t change the fact that he’d purchased Bram from some Hellhound puppy mill.

My living room was out, so we went back to my bedroom and made a cuddle pile on the bed. There wasn’t much we could do, except continue watching and passing on the information to Kaine until Talvath woke up.

When Reyson said he would cook a feast that his old dragon friends used to enjoy, he went all out. I broke out my best Fae wine. We were all stuffed, and a little buzzed. The Fae didn’t joke around with their wine—-it contained this mix of spices that made it delicious and got you drunk, fast!

Reyson cleared his throat.

“Would any of you mind if I had a few hours alone with my witch?”

My entire living room was then off limits for people to hang out in, but I hoped someone offered a suggestion. Reyson never asked foranything. He did so much for us. For me. He never asked for a damned thing for himself. I was eventually going to find time to spend alone with all of them, but if he wanted it now, I was definitely going to find a way to make it work.

Balthazar wasn’t just funny and amazing in bed. He made an excellent wingman when it came to getting laid. If I weren’t tripping over boyfriends, he would definitely be who I went to a bar with. That was his suggestion now.

“Everyone out. There’s a vampire club near here that welcomes everyone. We’re going clubbing. I’ll get my glitter.”

“I’mnotwearing glitter!” Felix said.

“Then we’ll need to pick up some glow sticks to weave into your dreads.”

Felix looked like he was ready to explode, but Balthazar wasn’t serious. At least, I didn’t think he was. He enjoyed setting Felix off because Felix tended to be a dick to everyone. I loved Felix, but he had it coming sometimes, and it was entertaining to watch all the ways Balthazar came up with to rile him up.

“Can’t we just go to Waffle House and drink their coffee? I’m not setting foot in a club like that… I might get herpes from the bar.”

“Relax, pussy cat. I wasn’t going to share my glitter with you, anyway. No one is going to care if you walk in looking boring. People are there for two things—drinking and dancing.”

Balthazar wasn’t the only one that liked to give Felix a hard time. Felix was mean to me too sometimes. I snapped my fingers and put him into black leather trousers and a leather vest, with metal studs all over it.

I expected a very British tantrum. Usually, Felix wasn’t exactly flashy when it came to his clothing. He didn’t like to show off like the rest of us. He was all about dark jeans and Henleys. Felix crossed his arms and glared at me.

“You’re not the only one who can work the leather, Ripley. I know you’re just fucking with me, but my arse looks hot in these trousers, and I’m not going to change.”

I smacked him on the ass.

“Good, because you look hot in that.”

“Is that settled?” Gabriel said. “I’m not going to say no to a vampire club. I’m not wearing glitter either.”

“All of you seem to be under the assumption that I’m willing to share my makeup with you! Do you know how much that glitter costs?! It’s Fae glitter. There’s magic in there to make you extra pretty. Of course, I like all of you, but you arenotallowed to look prettier than me in a vampire club.”

“Enough about the damn glitter. Get out of here so I can be alone with Reyson!”

That’s what I loved about these particular boyfriends. They weren’t the needy kind who couldn’t entertain themselves when I was busy… even if that involved vampire clubs and Fae glitter.

I took a running start and jumped on Reyson. I wrapped my legs around his waist and kissed him. He easily caught me and walked me over to my bed. He placed me down gently, like I was breakable, and tenderly brushed a curl from my forehead then tucked it behind my ear.

“Hello, my witch. I hope you think I’m not being overly forward, or selfish.”

I grabbed him and pulled him down for a kiss.

“I’d never think that. It’s about time you asked for something for yourself. I’ll always do this. You only have to ask.”

Reyson pulled away and placed his finger over my lips. His silver eyes were sparkling.
