“Some of what you read is true. Sometimes, I got blamed for things that weren’t my fault. We need chaos to balance the universe, but I didn’t make any of the serial killers in history. I helped create the universe. That was my contribution. I didn’t make any beings that reside in it, like most of the other gods… and if I were going to make and claim any, then they wouldn’t be killers. They are worse than cats. No offense, Felix.”

“None taken, you bloody wanker.”

“Wait a minute,” Professor Krauss said. “Felix was your familiar. I always thought it strange that you and your twin sister got two unique types of familiars. I didn’t make the connection before.Thisis your familiar, isn’t it?”

Felix held out his hand and smirked.

“He only did that to impress Ripley, but I’m not complaining. Loved your class, by the way.”

She took his hand and shook it. She seemed way more shocked my familiar had his body back than the fact that Reyson was a god and people were trying to start a war with Hell.

“Ripley, dear, I think I need to dig through some of my old journals and bring them back to you. You’ve got caught up in some dire shit, and I don’t want to think about the ramifications if this isn’t nipped in the bud before it goes too far. I’ll be back.”

I knew we were all in deep shit when Professor Krauss let a curse word slip. I’d never heard that word pass her lips pretty much ever, even if we were just discussing books.

I needed to call Ravyn. She’d want to read these journals, too, and she’d need it with her obsession with cursed objects. And I missed my twin. We usually got together for dinner all the time, but we hadn’t done that since I accidentally raised Reyson.

And yeah, I was at the point with all these men that it was really starting to hit me in the feels. It couldn’t go any further until they’d met my sister.

We all wanted to dig into those journals. Not only could it help me cure Balthazar, but Minerva Krauss was one of the best curse breakers in the entire world. She said there were things in the journals that would be detrimental if published. We were all hoping there were things written on the pages that would help us get inside the shipping container. Reyson wanted to go blow the entire thing down with his god powers, and none of us thought that was a good idea, even if he may be right.

I was a capable cook, even if I had a habit of completely burning cookies. Ravyn had no complaints when it was my turn to cook, but I wasn’t going to say no when Reyson and Bram offered to cook. Reyson was an excellent cook and that cake Bram baked was something else.

I squealed and flung myself at her when Ravyn walked through the door. Why had I gone so long without seeing her? We usually talked every day and tried to meet up a few times a week. Aside from Felix, she knew me better than anyone else on the planet.

She pulled away and looked over my shoulder. Reyson was bringing a tray of venison out and was wearing this pink vintage apron I saw online and had to have. He wasn’t wearing a shirt underneath… it should be illegal to look that hot in my apron. Ravyn eyed all the men in the room.

“I see why you’ve been too busy to call. This is an entire harem of your types. You sure you know what you’re doing?”

Felix walked over and pulled Ravyn into a hug. She had no idea who he was, because he was a black house cat the last time she’d seen him.

“Hello, Ravyn. Hello, Killian.”

The only person in this room who would know the name of her familiar was Felix and me.

“Holy shit. Is this Felix? Damn, son! Someone needs to be thanked for putting you together.”

Ravyn and I had alotin common, including a healthy appreciation for sexy men. Her dating life was just as disastrous as mine. She still liked to look and even comment inappropriately, but she’d gone cold turkey after things went ass up with the last shifter she’d been seeing.

Felix knew this was just how she talked to people, and I knew he enjoyed being hit on now that he had a body.

“Reyson is responsible for giving me my body back, but this was what I looked like before I died.”

Felix knew better than to hit on my twin sister in front of me. Someone had already cursed him when it came to twins. I knew Felix wouldn’t do that to me. He’d preen and enjoy the attention, but he’d never return it. I also knew Ravyn was just being Ravyn. She wasn’t trying to steal Felix or get him in bed. She talked like this to everyone, and she mostly didn’t mean it. Her mouth had gotten her in trouble more than once, so she put a cap on it at work, but I had to deal with it in public.

“That food smells amazing. They cook for you, too?”

Reyson walked over and pulled me to his chest.

“I spoil my witch rotten. It’s nice meeting her sister. I was worried you’d look too much alike, but you wear your hair differently.”

We did. We always had. Ravyn wore her hair much longer than mine and flat ironed her curls straight. It got pretty fucking old being confused for each other, and we grew out of pretending to be the other to play tricks at a young age. We both had a penchant for black leather, and we weren’t about to forbid the other from wearing it. Ravyn also loved wearing black lipstick, and I didn’t so you’d have to be pretty dense to confuse us.

“Pro-tip,Mister God. The fastest way to piss off twins is not to know who is who unless they want you to.”
