“We should have known she wasn’t,” Dakarys chuckled. “She was drunka lot,but she was a badass little witch if someone tried anything she didn’t like. She flung this uppity vampire none of us liked all over the damn prison because he tried to steal her hooch.”
“She’s my favorite drinking buddy,” Solron said. “Anyway, the Phoenix Fire coven was the one that paid you to steal that grimoire. I sent them a little message asking if they would like to use the contents to wipe the Aether Circle off the planet, and they are down, since now that they have an entire realm of demons as backup. Also, Sabrina Stone personally killed their High Priestess… so I’d say they are sufficiently motivated.”
What. The. Fuck?! I deleted those messages. I was sure of that when I got busted, back when they were trying to link me to any other thefts, theyhadto have had someone digging into my soap business…. not that they found a damn thing though, or they wouldn’t have offered me that sweet plea deal. How the fuck did Solron figure out who paid me to steal that grimoire in ten minutes?
Bael grabbed her hand and kissed it.
“Have I told you how much I love you today? Go fetch the witches, and pretty soon, we’ll be playing with the Aether Circle.”
Solron hopped up and stepped into the shadow in the room. She completely disappeared. That was a neat trick. So, was hacking my website and finding what I thought was impossible information.
Every one of us who escaped Silverhold were just sitting there, our mouths hanging wide open, all of us except Faust. He looked like he was ready to let his wolf out and kill some witches. He also looked like he had total faith Solron would be able to get that information from my website.
Bael gracefully rose from his chaise and stretched.
“We’re going to need the demonic dream team for this. For now, just sit while I make some calls. I’ll have food brought in.”
