“Can I steal your shark for the night, Kishi? He’s figured out all the fun things you can do with women, but I’d like to show him all the kinky things that can make you happy when it’s just two men.”
“I don’t own Taron. That’s up to him. Taron, what do you want to do?”
Taron looked at Beck, and then he looked at me. I knew what he was feeling because I was grappling with the same thing. He wanted to, but he was worried about me. I walked over and pulled him into a hug.
“You won’t hurt my feelings if you do. I want you to feel good, and Beck can teach you things. I can go with Callum. Is that okay?”
“Forrest?” he asked.
“My time will come. It’s my turn to be the responsible one. There are plenty of servants in this palace who don’t understand what happened. We also need to perform the rites for the people who died and do a cleansing, or their spirits will linger here. You don’t even want the spirits of good people staying behind. Trust me. We don’t need the ghosts of the bad people who died here tonight haunting the place.”
We had rites in the ocean, but the dead stayed dead. We did them to help people pass into the afterlife peacefully. I didn’t like the idea of Forrest being alone any more than Taron, but I liked the idea of all those wicked people returning even less.
I grabbed Forrest and kissed him.
“Thank you. Soon.”
“I will go with Beck,” Taron said.
“Don’t do anything I wouldn’t.”
Beck laughed and started tugging Taron out of the room.
“You two are up for literally anything, and I love that about you.”
Callum scooped me up like Taron loved to do.
“It’s time to show you all the perks of being with royalty, Kishi. We’re going to spoil you and Taron rotten. I don’t have to pretend to be the dutiful druid prince, so my father doesn’t flip out anymore. There are certain responsibilities engrained in my blood because one day, I’d be running a country, but the things I did to soothe his paranoia were never me. It feels like this enormous weight has been lifted off my chest. I’m about to be responsible for the lives and wellbeing of everyone in this kingdom, but that seems easier than being his son.”
I nuzzled his neck as he kicked his bedroom door shut behind him.
“I’m still getting used to everything on land, but if you need people to help you skirt the rules, Taron and I are perfect for that.”
Callum set me on my feet and swept me up into a passionate kiss.
“I’m going to be king, Kishi. I plan on undoing all the idiotic rules in place against having fun and who to love. He didn’t just make certain relationships a crime. He outlawed several things that did nothing but bring people joy. I’m going to undo all that.”
I ran my hand down his chest.
“You and I together are still illegal until you are king.”
Callum smirked at me.
“I don’t brag about it like my brothers, but I’ve broken that law several times. I’d love to show you everything a succubus taught me about pleasuring women.”
I would have said yes, but he didn’t ask. He crushed his lips to mine and started unlacing my dress. Ireallyliked this side of Callum.
