“You know nothing. Make the call, and maybe I’ll let you out of your cage.”
“I want total privacy for this phone call. I want you out of here, and I know you’re a creeper who likes to hide cameras everywhere. So if there’s a camera in here, I want it off.”
“You’ve lost, Ripley. Reyson can’t come here and save you. None of your men can. You can’t escape either because you’re an outsider here. The sooner you admit it, the faster we can end this.”
I shrugged and batted my eyelashes innocently. Dorian didn’t know every little thing about me. One of my men was already here. Bram hadn’t answered my text, and when I tried calling, it was like one of us didn’t have service. Apparently, I needed a demonic app to call people in Hell.
Bram had better answer his fucking phone because I was making two phone calls as soon as Dorian got his ass out of here.
“I just want some privacy while I talk to my boyfriend. If I’m trying to convince him not to murder you and you’re in the room, he’ll think I’m under duress. He’s really protective and all. He’smucholder than you, but he’s totally a feminist. If he thinks I’m using your words and not mine, he’ll get murdery. I know him better than you do.”
“Fine! There are no cameras in here. I wanted them, but my demon friend draws the line at hidden cameras inside his house. He’ll change his mind really fast if you do something stupid.”
Dorian’s demon friend had an odd set of principles. He was willing to damn his entire realm giving out those sigils, he was fine with Dorian raising a god to kill his friends, and he had no problem assaulting my library and kidnapping me.
I guess even Dorian’s fucked up demon friend thought it was creepy to hide cameras and spy on people.
As soon as I was alone, I drew in a deep breath. I knew she had fucked off to Hell with her angel lover, but if there wasanytime for Lilith to answer a witch’s prayer, it was now. Her little safe space was in trouble. So I fired off a little prayer to Lilith and hit Bram’s number in my contacts.
It rang once, then twice.
“Hello?” Bram said.
I’d never been more grateful to have a man answer my call in my entire life.

Bram
Talvath managed to get an audience with Lilith and her fallen angel friends. It must be nice to be important. I was still a little bitter I’d nearly died trying to save him, found an entire group of friends that had the skills to help him figure this out, and he chose a retired god who hadn’t wanted to do a damned thing in the realm she created instead of the god who had been actively helping this entire time.
I was also pretty furious that I had more first hand knowledge of Dorian Gray and this plot than Talvath did because I was there when Balthazar and Reyson found information in real-time, but I had to wait outside while Talvath told them what I told him. I was one of Lilith’s creations too. She could at least look me in the eye and hear me out if she wouldn’t do anything to help the Hellhounds.
I was pacing and furious when my cellphone rang. It shocked me when I looked down at saw it was Ripley. She wanted to program her number in my phone, so I gave her mine. I’d wanted to text or call her this entire time, but it would have been impossible without modifying her phone to communicate between realms.
She needed this app written by a team of demons that I was trying to figure out how to get on her phone before Talvath woke up and yanked me back to Hell. There was no way possible Ripley could call me unless she was in Hell, and there was no way possible for her to be here.
“Bram? Thank Lilith. Dorian gassed the library and kidnapped me to Hell. I’m at the house of your traitor. I haven’t seen his face, just Dorian’s. Apparently, Dorian’s whole promise for controlling Reyson wasn’t magical. It was kidnapping me. Dorian said Hell doesn’t like outsiders, and if I escape, I’ll be killed. This isn't good, Bram. Reyson is going to tear the cosmos apart to get to Hell. He’s creative, and he’s decided we’re getting married. He’ll find a way, and a war is going to break out here.”
Shit. We just did not need the God of Chaos trying to blow our front door down. Dorian had been very careful so far, but I was almost certain he’d made his first error. I had a plan, and it involved pissing off a god and a few fallen angels. I literally didn’t care how offended they got. This had gone on far enough. First, they hurt Talvath, and now he took Ripley. Dorian Gray didn’t care who he hurt as long as he got out of his deal.
“Sit tight, Ripley. Do everything Dorian asks, even if you are just faking it. He’s right about one thing—if you leave that house, you’re in danger. No one will give you time to explain or care that you are also one of Lilith’s creations. They are going to think you broke in and try to fight. I have a plan. If it works, we’ll have Reyson and Lilith on our side.”
“How do you plan on doing that?”
“Talvath is an important demon. He’s in there with Lilith now. They are going to have to deal with listening to a Hellhound whether or not they like it.”
“That’s badass. Tell them they need to let you come back to the library. You can’t just announce that your cock is pierced to a god, a librarian, and a bisexual vampire and fuck off to Hell for the rest of your life. Plus, we all just dig you, and you’re family now.”
That gave me the swell of courage I needed to do what needed to be done. For Ripley, for all of Hell, and for the Hellhounds too.
“Hang tight, Ripley. Help is coming, and Dorian is going down.”
“Stay safe, Bram. I have to call Reyson now. Dorian thinks I just called him. He knows more than he should, but he doesn’t seem to get we all have a bond with you.”
“You too.”
I hung up my phone and stuck it in my back pocket. Ripley and the others had been fighting for me since they met me. They wanted my freedom, and they risked their lives to save both me and Talvath.
