“Parliament wanted a representative for the Hellhounds,” May said. “Lilith asked me to do it. Can you imagine?”
My gaze flew to Lilith. She had been all about Bram this entire time. Lilith had been relying on him to rally and lead the Hellhounds. It had worked so far. I was shocked she hadn’t put him forth when parliament wanted a Hellhound representative.
All she did was wink at me, and I got it.
Lilith gave Bram his out to come back to Earth with us. It was in his court now. May would be wonderful at it. I smiled at her and pulled her into a hug.
“You look beautiful, and you’re going to be boss at this.”
“I’m so nervous. I thought for sure it was going to be Bram!”
“One of my end goals is to reunite Hellhound families. I’m not going to start that off by ripping Bram away from his. He’s on his own journey. Perhaps this is the start of Hellhounds occupying two realms. The choice is entirely up to Bram, but I’m not putting anything in his path where he thinks he’s obligated to do anything.
“May, you are actually perfect for this, and I picked you for a reason. Akul was the worst of the worst. I can’t imagine what it was like living with him. But, you never gave up hope things would change, even as Oscar and Akul tried to rape and beat it out of you. You’reexactlywho we need representing the Hellhounds.”
“She’s right,” Solomon said. “We joined the fight because you stood up to Oscar. Between the two of you, it was a no brainer.”
“No one is going to get angry if I go back to the library with the others?” Bram asked, worrying his bottom lip.
There were countless Hellhounds in Lilith’s living room. Some of them heard his speech at Akul’s, and some just joined in when they saw him shift and attack Akul’s wife. They didn’t get to talk to him until later and not very much because he’d been involved in the interrogations of Akul.
They saw how Lilith looked to him for this entire plan. He was her right-hand man for a lot of this, even once Reyson got here. Every Hellhound in the room was encouraging Bram to be happy, and it was a beautiful thing. They could have said they still needed him. If anyone knew how to be a mostly free Hellhound, it was Bram.
Talvath pulled him into a hug with tears in his eyes.
“Go, Bram. Be happy. We’ll handle it. Just keep in touch.”
Bram looked at me with hope in his eyes. I think that was the first time I ever saw that look.
“Will you have me?”
I growled and pulled him down for a kiss.
“Shut the fuck up. You’remine.I’m never letting you go again.”
“I love happy endings,” Lilith said, clapping her hands. “We still have a bit of work to do before the rest of the Hellhounds can get theirs. May, you’re going to need help with your new position. This isn’t over yet. One more press conference, then we can start moving the Hellhounds out. Come with me. We need to prepare. Reyson, we will have a ceremony to fix the sun at one of my resorts on live television. Is that okay?”
Reyson bowed his head.
“I’d be honored.”
“Good. Get some rest. Eat something. We have plans to get Hellhounds out immediately after the press conference to prevent any violence. So I could use some help with that.”
She got my guys here so they could get me out of that cage. Lilith made sure we got to keep Bram. She was changing things for the better in Hell.
If she needed me to knock some demon heads around to make a smooth transition, I’d be happy to help.

Deleting that cloud server was child’s play since I had Dorian’s phone. Akul’s laptop wasn’t passcode protected, and he didn’t even encrypt his blackmail files or that manifesto. It wasright thereon his desk. Idiots with no care about computer cooties who pirated porn instead of streaming it like a civilized person hid their porn better than he hid that whack ass manifesto. I hid my nudes better than that.
It was probably the easiest hacking job I’d ever done, but also the most important. I helped Kaine catch criminals plenty of times, and I liberated tons of money from people who were doing evil things with it. I never helped liberate an entire group of people and start a revolution.
It felt good.
While everyone else was eating and celebrating, Lilith gave me a little side project. She didn’t create me, and I certainly never prayed to her, but it meant a lot that she trusted me with it when there were probably perfectly capable hackers here in Hell.
