“Ripley?”
I turned around, and Professor Krauss was standing there.
“Someone posted on the library’s social media page you were back at work. Shouldn’t you be taking some time off to deal with your trauma?”
I motioned her over to my desk. I think we inflicted way more trauma on certain residents of Hell and Dorian Gray than I got. I motioned her over to my desk and fired up my electric tea kettle on the shelf behind me. I pulled her favorite lemon cookies out of my drawer and filled her in on what happened.
“That’s quite a journey. I always knew you and Ravyn were destined for greatness. I still do tarot readings for Ravyn because I’m quite fond of her. Something big is headed her way.”
“It had better not be a stupid, cheating wolf.”
“If Lilith ever visits, I’d be honored to meet her.”
“I think she’d love to meet you too.”
Professor Krauss’s eyes went to all the carts by my desk. Felix, Bram, and Gabriel had gotten through some of them, but only Felix knew where those books went. That was going to be a slow process, and if I didn’t get in there and talk to the sentient books, they would go feral.
“I see Dennis left you a mess.”
“I’m still not sure how his mother pulled strings to get him in here. She should have been here herself.”
“She probably couldn’t. Your friend Kaine held a press conference after he got back from Hell. Everyone knows Silvaria and several prominent members of the supernatural community were arrested. A lot of them were board members. Some of them were very close to board members. People have gotten fired if they weren’t arrested, and anyone who wasn’t is trying to do damage control. I don’t think they could spare anyone to run the library.”
“What else happened while I was gone?”
“Well, plenty of people are trying to pretend they didn’t know Dorian Gray, but he practically posted a selfie every time he used the toilet, so it’s all out there. You’ll be glad to know Kaine made your Gabriel out to be a vital part of rescuing you and freeing the Hellhounds. I’m sure he was, but Kaine talked him up. I’m guessing you’ll find the magical community will be a lot nicer to him and his family from now on. Especially since they now realize even powerful, respected families can fall.”
I looked to Gabriel as he came back for another book. I was happy for him, and I desperately wanted that for him. He gained a lot when he met Lucifer, but Lucifer was in Hell and would probably stay there.
“They’d better because Reyson has opinions on that.”
“I hope he does if they don’t shape up. It looks like Dennis left a mess. I’ll leave you to get your library back in shape.”
By the time my day was done, all the books on the carts were on the shelf, they put away the carts, and Reyson had to heal three bites from the sentient books. They were calmed, though. My library was finally back in order.
We ordered delivery and headed to my bedroom, but I had other ideas. Reyson had been talking about it for so long, and Bram was on board. I curled up in the Papasan chair in my bedroom and looked at my guys.
“For tonight’s entertainment, I want to watch Reyson and Bram.”
They both let out a little growl. Yeah, they were totally into it. I couldn’twaitto watch.

Reyson
Iwas so in love with my witch. She pointed me towards a genre of fiction that wasn’t so prevalent the last time I walked the Earth to pick my name. It raised so many questions for me because every writer took different liberties with their cocks. I’d sampled nearly every supernatural creation of every gender in my time, but a willing male shifter had never come to me to warm my bed.
Based on some of the literal infant arms I read about, neither had some of those writers.
She could have hit me and pitched a tantrum when I asked her to find me a wolf. I think it amused her when I asked. When she started collecting men, I put the idea out of my head, and I loved them like brothers. It would have been weird to bring an outsider in, then Bram joined us.
Big, strapping, tattooed Bram with rings in his nipples. He was beautiful, and he promised to pierce mine for me when Talvath brought his stuff over from Hell. Bram had been flirting with both Balthazar and me, and I heard him admit he didn’t care about gender when it came to sex, but the man looked a little nervous about this.
“What’s wrong?”
“It’s a Hellhound thing.”
“Have you not heard me talking about how much I want to experience your Hellhound thing? So let’s talk it out.”
