I squared my shoulders and marched straight to the ornate doors they were all behind. I could have knocked. I probably should have. If Talvath outranked me, the Lilith and the fallen angels certainly did. I already knew how that was going to go down. They would send the least important person in the room to answer the door, and they would try to dismiss me.
I was honestly tired of being dismissed and ignored in all of this.
I lifted my steel-toed combat boot and kicked the fucking door in. Let them ignore me now. There were two massive angels with their wings out and their swords drawn. Talvath jumped to his feet and stepped between us.
“Wait! Bram saved my life. I’d still be in that shipping container if it weren’t for him. He has vital information, and he should have been in here giving it this entire time. He wouldn’t have made that entrance unless it was important.”
An absolutely beautiful red-headed woman peered around one of the angel wings and stared me up and down.
“Sit, please. I never said a Hellhound couldn’t be in my presence. I’m quite fond of them. If there’s any intel on this mess, I’m guessing he got it first hand. Can I get you something to drink?”
That was certainly new. Lilith sounded like she had a lot of respect for us, considering she hadn’t done a damned thing to help us. I couldn’t think about that right now.
“Dorian Gray is in Hell with the traitor, and he’s kidnapped the woman I’m pretty sure I’m falling in love with. The God of Chaos is also in love with her, and Dorian thinks if he kidnapped her somewhere Reyson can’t go, he’ll do his bidding. I’ve spent time around Reyson. He’ll make a cosmic mess getting his witch back, and me and all the other men who love her will help him. She also has a very powerful twin sister who doesn’t fuck around.”
Lilith looked seriously amused at all of this. She had this ethereal smirk on her face.
“I’m guessing you have a plan to bring Dorian Gray and the traitor to justice and save your witch with as few casualties as possible.”
I did, and they weren’t going to like it. I wasn’t even sure if Lilith would go for it since she barred other gods from visiting her realm.
“Yeah, I do. There’s an entire team with unique skills surrounding the witch Dorian kidnapped. Reyson can see possibilities. He can let us know if a plan is a bad idea. Second, her familiar has his body back and is a powerful warlock who can change into a cat and sneak into places. Third, one of Lucifer’s descendants is with them, and he knows how to kill revenants. Finally, there’s a vampire who can hack anything on the planet.
“I say I go get them and bring them here. Balthazar can track her using her cell phone. We’ll have the location of Ripley, Dorian, and the traitor. I think everyone wants to kill Dorian Gray at this point, so we’ll have to figure that part out later. The traitor needs to be taken alive to make sure they are working alone. While we’re taking out Dorian and the demon, Felix can sneak through the house as his cat until he locates Ripley and frees her. Honestly, Ripley and her twin sister are pretty good with curses and are probably going to want to play with Dorian before someone kills him.”
“And they should. Dorian Gray has come for two of my creations now and put my Hellhounds in danger trying to defend them. I agree with this plan.”
“You’re going to allow another god here?” one angel said.
“I put that precaution in place because of one god—your creator. I couldn’t keep one out without keeping all of them out. I had no problems with the others, Samael.”
“Reyson seemed pissed about what happened. I think he intends to find that god and kick his ass,” I said.
“Then, let him come,” the other angel said. “He can help.”
“You’re just bored because we’re retired, and you’re looking for a fight, Lucifer,” Samael said.
“We’reallbored. Lilith is a god, and we’re angels. We’re not meant to sit back and let people do things we don’t agree with.”
“Lucifer is right,” Lilith said. “This is a little wake-up call we need to be more involved. Things are going to change here.”
“You can start with the Hellhounds,” Talvath said. “As you can see, Bram is articulate, well-read, and we wouldn’t have any of this information without him. He risked his life to save mine.”
Lilith tossed her hair over her shoulder.
“That’s the first thing on my agenda. I haven’t been to Earth in a very long time. So I think I’ll take a vacation there to bring these people back here to help with this mess.”
I was glad Lilith was fired up and ready to get involved, but now that I’d met my second god, they sure were weird.

We seriously underestimated Dorian Gray, and we were standing on the site of a massacre committed by humans that should have told us they were perfectly capable of hurting us, even without magical gifts. He had ample time to put this plan into motion. We were good, but none of us were mind readers, and now he had Ripley.
We were all pacing and pissed off. Killian was the only one who could kind of soothe Ravyn. Between Ravyn and Reyson, they were ready to destroy the entire cosmos to get Ripley back and kill Dorian Gray. I knew exactly how they felt because I did too.
Balthazar’s phone started ringing out of the blue. I didn’t peg him for having Dolly Parton’sJoleneas his ringtone, but oddly, it fit. Of course, I hoped he didn’t intend on answering that. There were other things we needed to be worrying about.
