“Not Lilith. Look deeper into the Norse gods. They did some pretty terrible things to each other.”

“Where are you from, Key?” I said, unlocking my front door. “You seem to know a lot about ancient Norse culture.”

“Just paying homage to my roots.”

A half answer.

“Why haven’t you published everything you know?” Killian asked from the kitchen as he started bringing the snacks out.

Key just shrugged.

“I share what I know when it’s needed. I don’t feel the need to write books or get quoted in other people’s work. It just feels arrogant. I also have a law license. Sometimes, I like to do that. It’s fun toppling insurance companies or ruining a rapist’s day.”

Key didn’t look that much older than I was. How had he found the time to cram that much knowledge in his head? I was constantly learning and spent my whole life studying, but sometimes, a bitch needed Wikipedia.

“Have you tried toppling the patriarchy?” I asked.

“I did get a judge who had a history of giving rapists probation kicked off the bench.”

I held up my fist for a bump because I was so here for that. Killian plopped next to me on the couch and threw his arm around my shoulder.

“Norway is your team?” he asked.

“Iknowthey haven’t been to the playoffs in ages, but someone just needs to remind them that there was a reason the Vikings were once feared. Supernaturals took up that vocation too. The new forward on Norway’s team is one to watch. She’s starting tonight. She’s a lovely siren. Mark my words. You need to watch that one.”

The game was starting. There were five balls in dodgeball. The golden ball was what you scored with. The other four balls had various magical properties. Players would grab the ball and throw them at players to stop them from scoring. You could use any of your magical gifts in this game because it wassupernaturaldodgeball. We existed way before humans started throwing rubber balls at kids’ heads, like Beyla explained to us.

The team gathered on either side of the field in their positions. The balls shot out of the ground, and everyone scrambled to catch one. Key was right about Norway’s siren. She was spectacular. Killian and I were keyed up and screaming at the television.

When the match was over, Norway had won by a huge lead. I grabbed Killian and kissed him and then threw my arms around Key. Then, I realized what I was doing. Shit. Were we at the huggy part of our relationship? I literally just met him. I cleared my throat and pulled away.

He smiled at me when I tried to die in my couch cushions. Maybe it wasn’t a bad thing. He tucked my hair behind my ear.

“I like hugs.”

This big, massive mischievous man liked hugs. I was here for that. It was late, and Key excused himself to go home. I looked at Killian and knew what I was going to do tonight.

My sex ban had gone on long enough. Now that I kissed him, the flood gates were open.

Chapter14

Ravyn

Ihadn’t had sex since Valentine sent me that book a few years ago. Was it like riding a bicycle? Could I still suck dick like a champ? There was only one way to find out. As soon as the front door closed, I climbed into Killian’s lap and started kissing him. His hands went to my ass, and he squeezed.

“Are you sure?” he asked.

“Shut up,” I growled.

Killian wrapped his arms under my thighs and stood up with me. He was a lot stronger than he looked. He carried me to the bedroom with me kissing his neck. He laid me on my back and started kissing me. The boy could certainly kiss.

I went straight for his zipper, and he grabbed my hand to stop me. Why? I needed to know I could still suck dick, and I wanted his.

“I want to taste you first,” he said.

Or we could do that too. I started stroking him through his pants.

“A hot little sixty-nine?”
