What the actual fuck was going on? Marsden didn’t do morning rehearsals. I was getting good at reading Beyla, and she was pissed.Marsden was such an Unseelie. He probably just showed up early and demanded a rehearsal, even if she wasn’t getting paid for it. If I had known, I wouldn’t have dragged myself out of bed, so I didn’t have to witness Nicolai’s hands all over her like that.

If I was pissed, it was nothing compared to the shriek behind me. Bellatrix had arrived. I tried not to pay attention to that dramatic succubus, but she tried to get her claws into my mate, so I turned to glare at her. The bitch had tried to attack Madame Lucinda, and I’d body slam her on the Marley if she pulled that shit with Beyla.

I let out a little growl when I saw fucking Julian standing there with her. What was this? Marsden said he would be gone. I knew he had contacts everywhere. If he wanted Julian in jail, it would have happened last night.

Marsden rushed over and pulled Bellatrix to the front of the room to talk to her. Beyla fucking hugged Nicolai and wandered over to us.

“Dinner tonight. I’m cooking,” she said.

I felt my entire world brighten. Finally, she was inviting me on a date.

“You too, Nyx and Bevan. I invited Nicolai and Merlin, so please be nice. I need share something with you all, and it’s important.”

Shit. Not a date. Bevan and I were both clenching our fists, but for different reasons.

“Why is he here?” Bevan hissed.

“I don’t know. Marsden swore he was going to be gone. Maybe they didn’t have time to gather evidence just yet?” Beyla said.

My gryphon was on edge because Bevan was upset. I pulled him into a hug and started purring when he hugged me back. It was just so lovely. I let him go and looked at Beyla. Her eyes were fixated on the clock on the wall. Class should have started two minutes ago. Madame Lucinda was a stickler for time. She’d booted people out of her classroom for being a single minute late.

Madame Lucinda was standing at the front of the room with her arms crossed, glaring at Marsden. He still had Bellatrix at the front of the room, and it looked like he was trying to keep her there.

What the actual fuck was going on?

Chapter4

Bevan

Iwasn’t a violent person, at least not ordinarily, but I really wanted to walk over there and beat Julian to a pulp. He knew that, too, because he winked and blew a kiss at me. Arden caught me as I tried to fly over there and punch his face in. Shit. I wasn’t about to fight a gryphon. I snapped my fingers and delivered a punch magically to his stomach.

Julian hissed and bared his fangs at me. I was ready for a fight, but Beyla and Arden jumped between us. It was time. Julian had long pissed me off, and he had this coming. Before he could even come at me, another vampire in a Paranormal Investigation Bureau uniform used their speed to dart into the room and slam him on his chest.

A flurry of more agents started spilling into the room. Bellatrix was shrieking, and a repulsed Ivory moved away from Julian like he stunk. Oh, shit. Marsden did this. They wouldn’t be here arresting him in class unless he allowed it. If he was the one who called them, he would have wanted them to do this privately… unless he was up to some shady Unseelie shit.

“What is this?” Julian yelled. “I didn’t do a damn thing!”

“Marsden, fix it!” Bellatrix shrieked.

Ivory slunk off and attempted to hide behind some corps members she tormented. But they weren’t having it and parted, just in case the agents were there for her too. I fell about laughing because this was just beautiful.

Julian was struggling and jabbering about his legal rights. Finally, he reared back and tried to catch the agent on the chin with his head. One of the witch agents gave him a magical shock, and I just couldn’t stop laughing.

“What the fuck do you think I did?” Julian whimpered.

“We don’tthinkyou did anything. We found your cocaine. Now, stop fighting and come along quietly, or you’ll have a lot more charges to answer for.”

“You!” Bellatrix shrieked, pointing at Beyla and me.

Marsden caught her as she tried to attack us. But those agents weren’t having it. The vampire hauled Julian to his feet by his handcuffs, and the witch glared at Bellatrix.

“Unless you’d like to go with him, I suggest you control yourself.”

I hoped she wouldn’t. She was high as a kite. They’d realize that as soon as they booked her and got a warrant to search her apartment. They’d find her stash then, and we’d finally be rid of her.

Bellatrix was furious, but her loyalties to her pet weren’t strong enough to go down with him. She shook Marsden off and squared her shoulders. She gave Julian a curt nod and wrestled her frayed temper under control.

“I will avenge this,” she growled, as they hauled him out of the room.
