I let out a little growl. I understoodwhythey would want to sneak a look at their princess.

“I’ll only beat them if they look at her in a way I don’t like.”

“No, you won’t. None of you will. You have my blessing if youdon’tdo this like a caveman. She’s a beautiful girl, dumbass. People are going to look at her in ways that piss you off. Youcannotgo beating everyone that does. That’s not why I chose you to be her guardian.”

I sulked because I knew it was coming, and I knew what I wanted to do about it.

“Cheer up, Cyrus. I said you couldn’t beat up my subjects, but I also said that if you all clearly like each other, to do something about it. So why are you still sitting here pouting?”

“Because if some pervert looks at her that way, I want to punch them.”

“That’s not up to you. If she doesn’t like it,shecan punch them.”

“That’s true. We’ll all teach her how.”

“Good. Now hang up with me and go to your job.”

I disconnected the call. What the actual fuck just happened? Our job had always been to protect her, but I guess it had become more than that, and Estrella just basically told us to go for it if it made Reagan happy.

I had to go outside now. I wasn’t afraid of anything, and I’d never had trouble getting women in my bed before. I had no idea what I was supposed to say to her now that we technically had permission to say whatever we wanted.

Oisin

Reagan told us about her conversation with Estrella. I was happy for both of them. Estrella needed to know Reagan didn’t hate her for everything, and Reagan needed to know how amazing her ma was and how much she missed her. Reagan was happy with Estrella's compromise, and that was all that mattered.

The little minx had maneuvered her way into snuggling with us on a blanket in the garden. Finnan and I weren’t complaining. We were all lying in a content silence until Cyrus came out. I really hoped he wasn’t about to say something stupid and act like we would get up because he said so.

“I need a word,” Cyrus said. “It’s important.”

I groaned. I was just so damned comfortable. I nestled her into my front like a little baby spoon, and I really didn’t want to move. I got up and dragged myself over to Cyrus. Cyrus pointed at his eyes, then at Tucker.

“You’d better watch her while we’re inside.”

“Duh, bitch,” Tucker said, blowing him a kiss.

I really liked Tucker, and that didn’t even need to be said. Tucker’s Fae form wasn’t that big, but he was an extremely powerful Fae. He was massive when he was shifted, and you could just feel the magic oozing off him when he was close.

Whatever Cyrus was about to tell us, he didn’t want anyone to overhear because he brought us all the way to his bedroom at the back of the house.

“Estrella said something,” he said, running his hands through the smoke at the top of his head.

“Yeah, she uses words a lot, you knob,” Finnan said.

“What did she say?”

“Sheknows.”

Well, fuck. We needed someone more verbal than Cyrus to spit this out because there was a ton of shit she could possibly know about and be furious with. Cyrus needed to clarify.

“Explain.”

“She knows this has gone beyond the guardian bond for all of us.”

Definitely bigfuck. Why couldn’t Cyrus keep his fat mouth shut? He never said anything he didn’t want to. So why did he have to blab to Reagan’smaabout that? Especially when she was our queen and trusted us. Finnan smacked him on the back of the head.

“You know how I feel about snitches.”

Cyrus snarled at Finnan.
