My two exes were generous lovers, even if they were just using me, but it was nothing like this. I couldn’t stop shaking. The aftershocks could have caused an earthquake. West let out a little growl and spilled into my mouth. I swallowed all of him.
We collapsed on the blanket and snuggled. West was purring up a storm and Church kept nuzzling my neck.
“That was perfect,” I said. “We should do this again.”
“We still have hours left of the full moon. Like, in thirty minutes or the next full moon?” West asked.
“Um, both?”
“I’m down,” Church said.
“Me, too,” West said.
They were perfect. This was perfect. No one could take this from me.

Vampires and lions operated at different temperatures. I woke up smashed between one of each. Church was cool to the touch and West was sweltering hot and purring up a storm. West growled and squeezed me when I tried to move.
“Stop it. Normal people don’t wake up before noon.”
“You’ve been getting up early all semester,” Church said. “We’ve had to listen to you bitch about it.”
“We just vigorously fucked under the full moon and they canceled morning classes because of the orgy. We can sleep for like, four more hours,” West groaned.
My dad and three of my uncles used to tell time by the sun and moon. They all knew damned well I was glued to my cellphone, but they taught me how just in case. My phone was at the foot of the blanket, but I could easily tell what time it was.
“It’s eleven-thirty,” I said.
“You wore me out, witch. You fuck like you fight.”
“Ew. I need to borrow my sister so we can decompress and share twin gossip about our first orgy. I’ll know if you were disappointing and my revenge will be epic,” Matilda said, standing above us. “Mags will eat your balls.”
My familiar loomed over us with a toothy grin. Mags was a breed of dog only available in Hell. She was pretty scary looking when she wanted to be. West cupped his balls and shifted uncomfortably.
“George, tell your familiar to leave my beautiful balls alone.”
“I’m pretty fond of mine, too,” Church said.
“Back off, Mags. That was beautiful and we should totally do it again. You’d both better send me requests because apparently, I need to creep onyoursocial media now. If you ghost me, my revenge will be epic, but it’s twin time now.”
“Ghost you?” West scoffed. “I need to know where to sign up to be your love slave.”
“Wedefinitelywon’t be ghosting you. Go be with your twin,” Church said.
They were perfect. Neither of them were jealous of my sister at all and got the twin bond. Not everyone did. I pulled my dress on and Matilda and I strolled back through Halliwell Square to our dorm room. Everyone was still mostly passed out in the square, but a few people were awake and milling about.
We had to pass by the Avalan dorm to get to Sigmis. My brother was in Vox, so I’d been in Vox and Sigmis dorms, but I didn’t really know anyone in Avalan. I thought we were just going to keep walking, but MatildaandMags both stopped and went on high alert. When Mags started growling like that, I knew something bad was happening inside.
We all went running. Dexter was cowering on the floor with a busted lip. My brother’s roommate was a warlock named Todd. Ineverliked him and didn’t get why Michael hung out with him. He came to stay with us at the library one three-day weekend and I didn’t like how he looked at my twin or me. The only reason I hadn’t said anything was because the ghosts had put them together and I figured Todd needed to marinate for a bit before he wasn’t a shitty person and was worthy of being my brother’s roommate.
This was a big ‘fuck no’ for me. He’d beaten the crap out of Dexter and had already unzipped his pants. The common room in Avalan had these beautiful high, vaulted ceilings with a forest-themed mural painted on it. So, I waved my hand and Todd shot all the way up to the ceiling.
Matilda and Mags rushed over to Dexter. There wasn’t much Mags could do magically, but people seemed to get a lot of comfort from dogs. Todd wasmine.I walked underneath him and looked up.
“What the fuck do you think you’re doing, Todd?”
“I’m just having a little fun.”
