“I’m going to leave the two of you so I can try to locate him and bring him to you,” Athena said.

Ah, fuck it. Sugar Tits was going to have to get used to hugs. I wrapped her up in a giant hug because she found my mom and brought her to me. Athena stiffened and just pat me on the head like a dog before she tried to get away. I guess it was okay she didn’t like hugs, even though I gavegreatones.

“Thank you,” I whispered.

“Hrm. Yes. I need to look into finding your father,” she said, disappearing.

Yeah, Athena loved me.

I didn’t know where Medusa went. I’d introduced her to my mom, but I wanted them to get to know each other. She came back and wrapped her arms around my waist.

“Hi. They starved me when they had me, so I ordered extra food. I didn’t know what you wanted, so I got a little of everything.”

“I love you,” I whispered.

“I love you, too.”

“She’s pretty,” Mom said as Medusa turned to go sit.

“I know, right?”

“They are all lovely. Athena said you were mated to a god?”

“Yes. Dionysus. Hades, Persephone, and Hephaestus are also here.”

“Your father and I knew as soon as we held you in our arms when you were a baby that you were going to do great things.”

I grabbed Mom and hugged her again. I couldn’t believe I was seeing her again after all this time. We had to fight some angels, but then we could just be happy.

“I live in a supernatural village now. You should live there. It’s self sustaining and Cas is a licensed social worker. If you don’t want to see him, you can see someone at the bottom of the mountain. We’ll find Dad. I can feel it.”

“After. I told Athena after she brought me to you that I’d go back and help her find your father and everyone else those awful places had.”

I got it. Mom was an activist when I was a kid. She’d want to help. Now that there was no magic blocking either of us, we’d always be able to find each other because her shadows were my shadows.

“Stay and eat first?”

“Of course. I want to know everything about your life while we were separated.”

Maybe noteverything.

Benji’s mom was gorgeous, even straight out of the Coalition. I could tell she was where he got most of his looks from. I hadn’t met him yet, but I could tell the parts of Benji that weren’t her had to come from his dad. If he was alive, I knew Athena would find him.

We were trying to get to know Benji’s mom when Dionysus appeared with Lucifer. Honestly, I didn’t think anyone who hadn’t met him before was prepared for him. He always carried this ridiculous man purse with a frou-frou yorkie in it.

That wasn’t an ordinary yorkie. Lucifer stole a hellhound when he was in Hell. From what he explained, regular dogs had the mental capacity of a toddler, but hellhounds were more like teenagers. His hellhound had big opinions about gettingkidnapped, so when they got back to this realm, she chose to shift into a yorkie so he had to pay out the ass for grooming.

Every time he tried to convince her to shift into a Pitbull or a Cane Corso, she pissed on his bed and pulled all the stuffing out of his pillows. Lucifer was utterly devoted to that dog. She had her hair up in a topknot with a purple bow because it was her favorite.

I saw Benji eyeing the yorkie like he was about to make a comment and we’d end up with a spiteful hellhound on our hands. Probably Lucifer, too, since he loved that hellhound.

“That’s Josephine, and she’s a hellhound.”

“Of course, she is. I’ll bet it would be fun as fuck to run with her.”

Ah. Benji wasn’t going to be snarky. The wolf part of him recognized that she wasn’t what she seemed. Lucifer seemed distracted and captivated with Alecto.

“Lucifer,” he purred, holding out his hand to her.
