“Right there! Right there! Please don’t stop, Orion!”
My husband had me bent over in the coat closet of our reception venue giving me all his marital dick. I loved it here. Married dick felt so much better than baby daddy dick.
Smack!“Your good married pussy having ass! You had me waiting for over three decades to feel this married pussy. Walls feeling all blessed and shit.”
I burst into laughter because why! “Orion, what the hell . . . oh my God!” He hit a spot that I wasn’t sure if I realized was there. My body shook as wetness rolled down my legs. Thank God my shoes were off because they would have been ruined.
“Fuck, Marsha! We gonna have to go upstairs and take a fucking shower. Sweet pussy nectar is a smell that only I can smell.” Orion’s voice was low and serious.
We fucked in the closet until I released two more nuts, and he released his big one. There was nothing to really clean ourselves up with, so my baby took off his vest so I could at least wipe up my leg. “We are going straight to our room to freshen up.”
Once we had ourselves semi-together, I opened the closet door so we could leave. My head dropped, and I wanted to close us back into the closet. These muthafuckin’ kids.
“So, y’all couldn’t wait until the end of the night for that shit?” Euri scolded. “They been calling y’all for almost twenty minutes to cut the damn cake, and y’all in here like teenagers.” When Bruqlyn snickered, his head slowly turned toward her. “You think this is cute?”
Bruqlyn’s beautiful face tightened a little, and a hand went to her hip. Oh my, she was about to embarrass his ass. “You weren’t talking all this shit when we were in the limo outside of our reception and I was?—”
“Aye!” Derrick cut her off. “No one wants to hear any of that nasty shit from any of y’all. Ma, Pop, go get yourselves together to cut this damn cake.”
Bruqlyn looked at Euri with tight eyes before she walked off. Not before he smacked her ass. “See, now y’all got me in trouble with my wife. What kinda role models are y’all.” He followed his wife back into the ballroom.
Aaron and Karla were left staring at us. I tilted my head. “Can I help you two?”
Karla laughed. “Mama, you a trip. Your daughter is in here looking for you. Oh, and Aaron’s lil girlfriend is here.”
“Really, Karla?” he asked with a titter. “Man, come on with your grown, tattletale ass.” He pulled a giggling Karla away.
Orion slapped my ass. “Come on so we can cut this fake ass cake.”
I laughed when he rolled his eyes then moved past me. My wedding planner had our wedding cake delivered to the venue already, sliced and placed in decorative to-go containers. The cake that we were to cut into was cardboard with a small piece in the back that was real cake. It was all about aesthetics and saving time.
I followed Orion to the elevator so we could head up to our honeymoon suite to shower and get changed for the rest of the reception. This would be the third time that I had changed today and the second for my husband. Now it was time for my purple and black lace jumper.
“Say cake for Mommy,” I coached my baby girl from where she sat on my lap at the head table. “Say cake, Maddie. Cake.”
Her beautiful brown eyes looked into mine, and she gave me her two teeth smile. “Cake! Cake! Cake!”
I smiled before I put a small spoonful of cake in her mouth. This little girl was everything to me. When Kim did what she did, I wanted to blow her brains out. It took some time to realize that sometimes the blessing is in the storm. Karla wanted her little sister around and safe, but she didn’t want to raise her. She struggled because she thought that made her a bad person, but it didn’t.
When I brought up the idea to Orion about adopting Maddie, he was not open to it initially. I thought it was because we were both in our fifties. What would it look like with two over seventy-year-old parents at our daughter’s high school graduation?
It wasn’t until a couple weeks after it was brought up that he admitted that he didn’t want it to seem like I always had to fix his mistakes. I didn’t understand how Maddie was a mistake of his until he explained it. In Orion’s mind, all of this stemmed from his initial interaction with Kim. He never regretted Karla, but he did regret her mother. Two opposite things could be true at the same time. It took a deep conversation for me to make him believe otherwise.
The truth was that I just wanted to be a mommy again. Yes, I was around when Derrick, Aaron, and Karla were younger, but their mothers were still their mothers. I didn’t take care of their daily needs, have a baby room for them. As crazy as it sounded, I wanted my own baby. That was what I wanted, but I still would have given the desire up if Orion didn’t want it. I thanked God that he found it in his heart to be a father one more time to a child that was neither of ours.
“Mama, why are you giving her all that cake?” Karla plopped down next to me. “Give me my sissy. You see Bridgette crashed because of her sugar high.”
Maddie went to her sister when she reached out for her. It was crazy how much they looked alike. I guess it went to show that Karla and Maddie looked like their mother. When Orion was contacted about Kim’s death due to an overdose, he was scared to tell Karla. He didn’t know how she would take it. We told her brothers first because we all wanted to be there to support her.
When we told her, it felt like she wanted to act indifferently in front of us, but my baby’s eyes never lied. She told us all that she was fine, but immediately isolated herself. She told Euri that she would work remotely until further notice. Kim had no relatives outside of her daughters, so it was put on Karla to decide what to do as far as final arrangements. She opted tocremate and spread her ashes at a duck pond that she said held good memories of them.
By the time Kim died, Orion and I had already adopted Maddie. After we spread Kim’s ashes, I told everyone to give her space. A week later, Bruqlyn, Norma, and I were at her door barging in. Thank God we did. That was all I would say about that. What happened in her house would always stay between the four women in that house.
I watched my two babies eat cake together. Now, she just fussed at me about feeding Maddie cake, but here she is, feeding her cake.I took my phone out to take a picture of them.
“Ma.” Aaron’s voice pierced through my mind. I smiled when I saw him in front of me with a beautiful woman. “Um, Ma, this is my woman, Bereet or Bee.”
My eyes moved behind them to see Orion walking toward us with a smile. I waited for him to stand at my side before I stood. He kissed my temple, put his lips to my ear, then whispered, “I like her for him.”
