A few chuckle while another one pipes up. "Maybe he's got a small dick and can't satisfy her."
"Look how quickly we broke that other redhead after we were done with her. Anshar just needs to pass that bitch over to us so we can give her some of that special treatment."
Raven's hair flares around her at the mention of breaking a redhead. Sera was the only redhead to have escaped from this place.
My blood boils at what they’re implying, what they’readmittingto, and I whisper to Raven, "Let's kill these fuckers."
She nods sharply at me as she looks back to check if our entire unit has made it through. Reassured that we’ve all made it, she motions for us to advance and we take the corner, lighting the bastards up.
Leo unleashes a wall of fire on them as Raven and Zedd fuel the flames with their air. Screams sound as they drop to the ground, batting at the fire helplessly, and a part of me revels in their death and anguish.
I count ten guards down and hear footsteps approach the hallway leading to us. I motion for my team to move to the front walls, not wanting the oncoming guards to see us out here so easily.
Broken bits of stone crunch beneath our shoes as we get into position, just in time for the new group to come through. As soon as the first one breaches the door, I grab him by the neck and slam him into the wall that was my cover. As the rest of the group handles the other guards, I fixate on my victim.
His thin black armor creaks at the force of how hard I'm pressing him into the wall, his eyes bugging out as he struggles to get a breath in. His dark blonde hair is plastered to his head with sweat and his icy blue eyes hold fear in them as he struggles in my hold.
"I'm going to ask you a few questions and if you don’t answer the first time, I’ll kill you and move to the next guard who will comply. Do you understand me?"
I barely recognize my own cold, detached voice but he nods his consent through my grip. I loosen my hold enough for him to not pass out before he can answer my questions.
I look around. None of the guards are fighting back with magic. "Why are you not retaliating with your powers?"
He blinks furiously before answering. "We’re not allowed to have access to our powers. Only the higher-ranking officers are. It’s to show our obedience and willingness to serve them."
So, we’ll basically be fighting against powerless fae until we get to the officers. That bodes well for us.
"Where is Anshar keeping his prisoner?"
He stares at me wide- eyed and takes too long to think so I reapply the pressure to his neck and seethe, "Do not test me."
A strong odor hits me and I look down to see that he's pissed himself.
I release him enough so he can speak and he stumbles with his words, "I … uh … we weren't allowed to know where her chambers are … but..."
I slam him roughly into the wall. "Spit it out."
"The higher-ranking officers have said she's on the third level in the corner room."
"See, that wasn't so hard, now was it?" I question and then slam my fist into his temple, knocking him to the ground.
"We're here, Raven," Noreen calls, signaling that she’s leading the second group in. Although Noreen was powerful enough to fit into the first group, we needed a strong leader for the second unit, in case things didn't go according to plan with us.
I quickly relay the information about the lower ranking officers not having powers and Lana's possible location.
Raven nods, wiping the blood splatters on her cheek but only smearing them further. "You and your brothers head to the location and we will infiltrate the lower level, systematically making our way up to you as we discussed."
We continue through the hallway and up the small flight of stairs to the first level. Two hallways break off from our point, one showing a staircase and one heading flat to a corner. Nodding our direction towards the stairs, Raven signals from her units to head the other route.
As my brothers and I approach the stairs, a loud boom rocks the castle and we halt as two others follow.
"Thank Gaia they decided to back us up on this mission," Zedd says.
"Let's get our mate and our brother back." Luke whoops and fist bumps his twin. Although they seem playful, I can see the thirst for battle and vengeance in their eyes.
Out of nowhere, a figure drops over the staircase and falls to the balls of his feet. "Mates, huh? Any chance you're Lana's?" He stands and flicks his blond hair from out of his eyes, a smirk on his face.
All of us call our powers to the surface as I speak for us. "Who are you and how do you know Lana?"
