That wakes me up.
“What?”
I wriggle against his chest until I get my arms under me enough to be able to stare into his eyes. They’re still impossibly green. They’re a jungle, but I can see love and amusement in them all the same.
And then I see what he’s holding. The ring that was on one of the chains around his neck. He told me it was his grandfather’s. One of the tokens of his family he wears at all times.
“Do you want to marry me?” I blurt out, my disbelief stronger than my good sense.
That wicked twinkle is back in his eyes. “Yes. I accept.”
My mouth falls open. “I wasn’t asking!” I protest. “I was asking if you were ask?—”
“Weren’t you?” His hand finds mine and slides the ring—still warm from his skin—over my finger. It’s too big, but my fingers close over it. I want to keep this. I want to be kept by him. “Well, it’s a good thing Iamasking.”
“Finn.” I haven’t got words for this. He brings our linked hands up between us and to his lips, then kisses my palm. It sends a shudder of pleasure down my spine.
“You don’t have any option, Millie,” he says with quiet intent. “You’re mine. I’m yours. I’m going to keep you forever and put a baby in you. I probably already have.”
Dragging my hand down his face, when my forefinger slides over his lips, he opens his mouth and catches it, closing over the tip. Then the wet heat of his mouth surrounds the tip, and his teeth close like a trap, digging into my flesh. I moan as a fresh wave of arousal crashes over me.
“I could consume you,” he murmurs. “I want all of you. A wedding is just the formal tags. My ring on your finger—this one for now, but I’ll get you a custom-made engagement ring. Something designed for my beautiful pet, to remind you of the sea, and where you brought me to let me take everything you give and more.”
He pulls me flush against him with his lower arm, but keeps our hands interlocked as he kisses me, his lips just as perfect as I imagined when we first met.
“Kidnapping you was the best choice I ever made,” I whisper.
His chest vibrates as he laughs. “Most fun I’ve ever had.”

MILLIE
A few days later
“Sis.” Noah looks at me like I’m a ghost as Finn and I walk into the wing of Finn’s enormous house that Noah has been staying in while I fell in love with his boss. “What are you doing here?”
We’ve only just arrived back, and the therapist messaged that Noah needed to see me, so of course we came straight to see him. I’m not worried. I’m not.
Except what if his treatment isn’t going as well as we thought.
“She’s marrying me,” Finn says, dropping a kiss on the top of my head. His arm is around my waist. He hasn’t stopped touching me, even now he knows I love him and I’m not going to leave him.
He likes it, I’ve realised. All of this was only ever because he loved me.
Noah, though, is white.
“Millie.” His voice trembles. “What did you have to do?—?”
I can’t help but giggle at his evident fear. Finn? Scary? I can’t imagine it anymore. “Nothing, nothing,” I assure him. “It’s all good.”
His gaze flits between Finn and me. “What happened?”
“Your sister kidnapped me, I convinced her to marry me,” Finn replies matter-of-factly. “And in about nine months, you’ll be an uncle.”
I nod, because yeah. Undeniably true.
Noah visibly shakes himself. “What about your job?”
