Liza leans against the door and squeezes her lips, frowning. She crosses her arms under her breasts, tapping her right foot on the tile.
“I need to know what’s going on because I know that you’re in love with Mr. Bartz. Why are you crying? What happened to make you so upset?”
Sofia Rose turns around, shrugging her shoulders. The soft purple blush creeps up her neck and invades her face. She raises her hand to mess with her hair.
“Nothing, really. I had dinner with Mr. Bartz and we talked.”
Liza pushes off the door and walks over to Sofia Rose and leans against the counter. She shakes her head and raises her hand, shaking her index finger.
“I know that something happened because your aura is darker and you’re very emotional. I know that he’s your heart’s desire. I’m here to help you, Sofia Rose, but I can’t if I don’t know what happened.”
Sofia Rose turns and glares at her, biting her lower lip. She claps her hands and nods.
“Yeah, I had dinner with Niko at his home We talked and then we made love. I couldn’t resist him. He’s my heart’s desire—my mate. I’m scared. I have a lot of questions. I don’t know much about myself and or other entities. Liza, I don’t think that they’re human. I think that I figured it out, but I need to talk to Niko.”
Liza narrows her eyes, nods, and turns to look in the mirror at her reflection.
I know what she means about not being human, but I don’t know what they are.
“Sofia Rose, I had Andrei over for dinner last night and it got hot. I didn’t have much time to ask him anything. I know that he wanted information too. I don’t think that they’re out to hurt you. I feel Andrei, and I’m sure that he’s my mate.”
Sofia Rose smiles at her and nods. She leans over to hug her.
“I understand, Liza, but it’s hard to resist them. It’s especially hard if they’re your mate.”
“Yeah, but it’s my job to protect you. I’m positive that they’re not here to hurt you. I’m going to talk to Andrei in my office. Are you okay?”
Sofia Rose nods and turns to walk out of the bathroom.
“Yeah, I’m going to work.”
“I’m not sure if I’m going to have lunch with you. I think that I’m having lunch with Andy.”
Sofia Rose stops at the door and turns to look at her. She smiles a small smile, nodding.
“No worries, I understand.”
They walk down the hall and into Sofia Rose’s office. Andrei is standing by the window, looking into the town square.
Andrei turns to smile at them, waving his hand towards the window.
“It looks like the Saint’s Grove citizens are busy setting up booths. Is there a special event taking place soon?”
Liza nods, and walks over to him to look out of the window.
“Yes, the Saint Gove citizens are celebrating Octoberfest. The activities start tonight.”
Sofia Rose walks over to look out the window and she leans over the counter. She nods and turns away, bumping into Liza and loses her balance. She falls to the ground.
Andrei quickly leans over to help her and his had waves over her stomach. He sees the red aura glow.
Hell, she’s pregnant and it has to be Niko’s. The baby’s aura is red. How fucking exciting! I can’t believe it! We only breed with Vhampiers orhumans. So what in the world are they?
Andrei carefully helps her up and smiles at her. He helps her to her chair.
Liza turns around, and walks over to them. She looks her over to see that she didn’t get hurt. She moves over to the desk.
“Sofia Rose, are you okay? Here’s your coffee. It’s still warm,” says Liza.
