Din walks over to them and pulls her away from Thai. He grins at her, running his fingers with long talon nails across her face.

Sofia Rose glares up at him; her lower lip trembles. Huge tears flow down her cheeks.

The demon wipes her tears and licks his fingers, moaning.

“I love everything about fairies. You’re so sweet,” rasps Din, leaning closer to her face. His long green pointed tongue slides out of his foal mouth and licks her cheeks, groaning. His swirling red eyes roll back in his head in ecstasy.

Sofia Rose yells, pushing her hands on his shoulders to get away.

The demon laughs. He grabs her long hair, twists it around his hands and pulls her to the side of the cave. He moves his hand back and pulls out a rope. He ties her up and then pushes up. Laughing, he walks away.

The other demons gather wood and start to build a fire.

The rain starts to fall harder into the opening overhead, sending a chill through her body. Sofia Rose screams for a few minutes and then blacks out.

The town folks have run home or found shelter, living a nightmare. The noise and yells has Liza looking out into the town square, wide eyed.

“Oh, sweet fairies. What’s happened? The entire town is running around scared.”

Liza turns to look at Andy, raising her hands up to her face.

“I hope that Sofia Rose is all right.”

He extends his arm to pull her in his arms, but she shrugs, shaking her head. She walks over to the corner.

“I’m sure she will be. Don’t worry, babe.”

Her eyes tear up and she turns to the three fairies on a painting and kneels, raising her arms and her hands open.

“My cosmic fairies in the universe, thy mist and blessing I request, tis your blessings to shield thy Princess Fairy Sofia Rose. Thy forgiveness I ask; tis I’ve trespassed. I’ve failed to shelter thy Princess Sofia Rose.”

“What? What are you saying?”

Andy falls onto his knees. He takes her shoulders and turns her around. He gazes into her tear filled eyes. He pulls her up close to his chest, holding her tight.

“Talk to me. Babe, please talk to me and let me understand what’s going on. I can help. I’m sure I can.”

Liza turns around to look at him and raises her right eyebrow. She raised her right hand to wipe her tears from her face, shaking her head.

“My love, I don’t think you understand. I’m frankly scared. What I’m going to share is going to sound crazy. I don’t want you to think that I’m going out of my mind.”

Andy leans in and kisses her forehead, closing his eyes. He shakes his head and moves his lips down her face.

“Babe, I promise that I will not think that of you. I think you will understand after our talk, but I need you to tell me everything. I can only help you if you allow me in.”

Liza pushes against his chest, shaking, and sniffs. She raises from the carpet and walks over to the big window, looking down into the chaos. She runs her hands up her arms and then down. Then she wraps her arms around her stomach, leaning her forehead against the window.

“I feel like Sofia Rose is in trouble and I don’t know where she’s at. I don’t feel her close.”

She moves her hands up to push her hair out of her face. She turns to look at him, crossing her arms below her breasts. Her eyes are wide, glazed, and all of her color drains from her face.

“I need to look for her because I’m her guardian. I’m her Fairy Guardian. I know that it sounds crazy, but I’m not!”

Andy walks up close to her and takes her hands.

“I’ll never believe that. Talk to me, babe.”

Liza shakes her head, closing her eyes, focusing on Sofia Rose’s aura. She opens her mind, searching for her in the pitch black void.
