“Ella, I’m in the family room,” Mama calls.
“Mama, I’m so excited,” I yell, walking into the family room, twirling around in a circle with my arms extended out, laughing.
“Oh my, that’s such great news. Ella, tell me all about it,” Mama says, clasping her hands, smiling at me.
“Mama, the second interview went great; they offered me the position as the medical assistant. So, I start on Monday,” I say, placing my coat, purse, and scarf on the armchair.
“Ella, congratulations! I’m so proud of you; I know that you’ve worked hard to get this job,” Mama says, reaching for her coffee mug.
Mama takes a sip, looking at me over the rim with sparkling eyes. I can see that she’s happy for me; her lips turn up into a huge smile.
“Mama, I’m going out to dinner with Nic,” I say, pulling out the scrunchie from my hair.
“Ella, I thought you were going to help me make some cookies for Christmas to take to your Zia Elena. Your Zia said that Sofia and Bria are excited to see us,” Mama says, turning off the TV pushing her eyeglasses up her nose with her finger.
“Oh yes, I can’t wait to see my cousins, but Mama, we can make the cookies tomorrow,” I say, crossing my arms, rubbing my hand on my arms.
“Okay, I’ll be okay. Jacob is staying at the MC tonight, but he promised that he’ll be here tomorrow,” Mama says, taking a sip of her coffee.
“Oh God, he’s always at the MC,” I say, shaking my head, rolling my eyes.
“Yes, I’m not sure if I like this MC business, but Jacob insists that it’s all good,” Mama says, furrowing her forehead, shaking her head.
My brother Jacob is prospecting at the Satanic Bastards MC, and that’s not good. He tells Mama that it’s all good since he’s the IT for them, and they really want him to prospect, but I don’t like it. But of fuckingcourse, he ignores my concerns, and Mama believes everything that he says.
“Thanks, Mama; I really want to see Nic tonight since he’s been so busy with school and work,” I say, chewing my lower lip.
“Oh, all right, sounds good. Ella, you enjoy your dinner with Nicola,” Mama says, turning up her lips, nodding.
Mama grabs the control from her lap, pressing the button, turning on the TV, and starts surfing through the channels.
“Mama, I love you; I promise we will make the cookies tomorrow, drink some hot chocolate, and listen to Christmas music as we bake,” I say, walking over to hug her, kissing her soft pink cheek.
“No worries, Ella; you enjoy your evening with Nicola. It’s all good. Please give him my regards,” Mama says, patting my hand.
“Awesome, yes, of course, I’ll tell him. I’m going to take a shower; I don’t want to keep him waiting,” I say, kissing my Mama’s temple.
I walk out of the family room walking down the hallway into my bedroom to take my shower. I walk out of the bathroom wrapped up in my soft gray robe, walk over to the closet to grab my dress. I get ready, apply my makeup, trying to look sexy for Nicola. I spray my perfume on my neck and wrists, turn to look at myself in the mirror, messing with my long hair, feeling beautiful and sexy.
After an hour, I start to look out the window in my bedroom for Nicola’s car. I look at the time, roll my eyes, and walk out of my room. I walk down the hallway and into the living room to wait for Nic. Twenty minutes later, I look at my man walking up the walkway. He’s so damn hot, and he’s all mine.
It’s about fucking time!
Indeed.
Since high school, we liked so many things, plus our Papà’s were the Cappola’s Crime Family Soldati’s. So, we get it, we have each other, and it’s all binding.
Nic is at my door, knocking.
“Mama, I’ll get the door,” I say, walking down the hallway to get the door.
“Ok, Ella,” Mama says.
I grab the door handle, pull the door, and I stand back, waving my hand across in a welcoming gesture.
Nic walks into my home, turning his lips; his sparkling emerald, green gaze roams all over my body and then gazes into my eyes.
“Baby, you look beautiful,” Nic says, taking a step towards me.
