“Hell, that was a bitch move. I think that learning how to defend yourself is good. -We can start you on weight lifting to get you strong, then we work into kickboxing,” Kevin says, taking a drag.

“Okay, that sounds good. Kevin, I want you to take me to your Junior’s Prom.”

“What? No way, I’m not going to no fucking prom!”

“Okay, well, then I’m going without you.”

“What the hell! You’re not going!”

“Like hell, I’m not. It’s our high school moment. I was invited to go to the Junior Prom. So if you don’t want to take me, I’ll go with Bill.”

“Fuck! You’re not going with Bill. Bill, who,” Kevin asks, dropping the cigarette on the concrete floor.

“I’m not going to tell you so you can kick his ass,” I say, rolling my eyes.

“You’re not going with him,” Kevin hisses, grabbing my arms and pulling me close.

“Then you’re taking me?”

I gaze into his emerald green eyes, and I know that he hates it, but he will take me.

“Yes.”

“Hell, yes! I can’t wait! I’m going to get myself a nice dress, and don’t forget to get the tux.”

“Right.”

I throw my arms around his shoulders, go to my toes, and kiss him. He wraps his arms around my waist, holding me close. He runs his lips across my face and kisses my neck.

“Cherry, but one condition. We will not fuck,” Kevin whispers.

I slide my arms down and shove him away, shaking my head.

“That’s fucking unbelievable! What the hell are you thinking? Why the fuck not,” I hiss, resting my hands on my waist.

“I have legit reasons, and that’s it,” Kevin snarls, walking away from me.

“Kevin, you need to tell me why not!”

“That’s the only condition, so take it or leave it.”

I watch him walk out of the garage, and I’m so ready to kill him.

Two years later.

“Kevin, the Prez is pleased that you’re doing good Prospecting. I’m good with you patching in if this is what you want, but I want you to finish your online classes,” Dad says, cleaning his gun.

“Dad, I should be done in a few weeks.”

“Great, so you’re still getting the Associate degree in Graphic Design?”

“Yes, and I like it.”

“So, now that you’ve done some kickboxing fights, are you still going to continue?”
