I can’t do that to Roberto.
“Roberto is wonderful,” I hum, taking a drink.
I sway with the music, thinking of Roberto. But it doesn’t help the image of the hottie in my mind.
Fuck!
“Girl, you’re so in love with the bastard that you can’t see his bullshit,” Vanessa huffs, rolling her eyes.
I don’t know if I’m so in love, but I do love him enough to marry him. Besides, Dad is counting on it, so I don’t have a choice, not really. I can’t tell my girls that; they won’t understand.
“Yeah, you’re still in time to call off the wedding,” Stacy hums, grabbing the glass of beer.
I look at my girls. We’ve been BFFs since junior high, and I still can’t believe that they don’t like Roberto.
He’s perfect.
He’s so loving and caring.
He’s a catch, especially in our world.
He’s handsome.
He’s rich.
I don’t get it. Why don’t they like him?
“I’m not calling off the wedding. So let’s have fun and stop talking about it,” I hum, taking a long drink of the Long Island Iced tea.
I look over at the guy and he’s staring at me, and I can’t help but smile. He lifts his chin, and I nod.
What the fuck am I doing.
I take another drink, look at him, and laugh. I can’t believe that I’m flirty.
“I need to go to the bathroom.”
“I’ll go with you,” Beth hums, looking at the stripper wide-eyed.
I laugh because I’m looking at the hot guy, and my girls are looking at the stripper. Yeah, I’m crazy.
“No worries. It’s just down that hall,” I say, tossing my hair.
“Okay,” Vanessa says, taking a drink.
We’re all drinking the Long Island iced tea, and I wonder if they did this on purpose to get me drunk.
Hmmm.
I walk across the room, looking at the hot guy. I smile and walk into the hall. I see the bathroom door, and then, all of a sudden, I’m grabbed.
“Let me go,” I yell, looking at the tall, thin guy.
“Bitch, you’re asking for it in that sexy little black dress,” He grunts.
“Let me go!”
He looks like a college guy. He pushes me against the wall, turns up his lips, and bitch slaps me.
