1 cup buttermilk

1/4 cup milk (can use half-and-half or cream)

Preheat oven to 375 degrees F

Combine in a bowl and then sift dry ingredients. Add cold butter in pats and incorporate until the consistency resembles coarse grain. Add raisins (more or less, depending on preference). Add buttermilk and milk. Cut dough into two halves. Flatten one half to about one-inch-thick rectangle. Cut in thirds and make triangles. Place on buttered cookie sheet.

Bake at 375 until done (usually about 10 minutes—check the color on the bottom so they don't get too dark). Serve hot with strawberry jam—while the second half is in the oven. Don't wait; they're better if served hot!

Breakfast Bake

(Tohr will eat three plates of this before he goes out into the field!)

1 loaf brioche bread, cubed

1 pound sausage, cooked and drained

6 slices bacon, cooked and crumbled

1 sweet onion, thinly sliced

2 tablespoons butter

1 cup shredded cheddar

1 cup shredded Gruyere cheese

10 eggs

3 cups milk

1 teaspoon salt

Pepper to taste

In a skillet over medium heat melt butter and add in onions. Sauté onions while stirring for 5 minutes. Sprinkle with ¼ teaspoon of salt and continue cooking for 15-20 more minutes or until they are a golden brown and caramelized. Spread bread cubes, sausage, bacon, onions and ½ cup of each cheese evenly in a greased 9x13 baking dish. In a large bowl, whisk eggs, milk, ¾ teaspoon salt and pepper. Pour evenly over entire dish. Top with remaining cheese, cover and refrigerate overnight. Remove from the refrigerator and place in a preheated 350-degree oven. Bake for 45 minutes. Remove from oven and cool for 10 minutes before slicing.

Blood Orange Glazed Donuts

(Mary’s favorite and Phury also eats a ton of these!)

1 tube Grands Flaky Biscuits

1/4 cup vegetable oil

1 box powdered sugar

1/2 cup blood orange juice

Preheat air fryer to 350 degrees. Using a 1-inch ring or shot glass, cut out hole from the center of each biscuit. Coat each donut with oil on all sides. Place on the air fryer rack and fry for 3 minutes on each side. Remove from air fryer and dip in blood orange glaze to coat the entire donut.

Blood Orange Glaze

Stir together powdered sugar and blood orange juice in a large bowl until smooth.

Lemon Cherry Danish

(Always served at the Audience House, too!)
