This was how he learned a number of things:

Stella snored. Not loudly enough to keep him up, but more of a constant soft rumbling sound.

She talked in her sleep. Single words that included his name (multiple times),spaghetti(only twice),princess(thrice), and a few others he could no longer remember.

She was a cuddler. Even with his massive king-sized bed, she somehow found her way to him in the night.

When he woke up, Stella’s legs were intertwined with his and she had one of her arms across his bare stomach, her breast pressed against his side. She’d gone to bed without a bra on, and he could feel her nipples pressing through the shirt. Max, for his part, had no shirt on. He would’ve been completely naked, because that was how he normally slept, but he didn’t feel right climbing into bed with nothing on when Stella hadn’t been awake to consent to that. So he’d swapped his sweatpants for basketball shorts. Now, though, as Stella wrapped herself more fully around him, the loose shorts did nothing to hide his morning wood.

It didn’t help that as Stella continued to shift more on top of him, his dick ended up between her thighs.

“Stella.”

He rubbed a hand up and down her back, trying to caress her awake, but it quickly became apparent that that was a bad idea. All it did was make her sigh happily in her sleep and nuzzle her face in his neck. Previously, Max thought that his most sensitive spot was the head of his dick or even his nipples, but when Stella’s mouth opened and she placed a kiss on the spot on his neck just below his jaw, he was positive his dick twitched.

“Are you awake?” he asked.

“Only a little,” Stella murmured.

Max glanced over and her eyes were still closed, but her finger began moving along the trail of hair on his stomach, stopping just above the hem of his shorts, before working its way back up again.

Max took her hand in his, stopping her perusal, and brought it to his mouth, kissing her palm. This gesture got her to finally open her eyes and look at him.

“Good morning,” she said, with a slow, sleepy smile.

“Morning,” he said.

Stella blinked a few times and then her hand went to her braids.

“I can’t believe I went to sleep with my hair out like this,” she said. “You should invest in satin pillowcases.”

“My pillowcasesaresatin.”

Stella turned, her hands patting down the pillow beneath her.

“Oh, you’re right.”

Max laughed. “I would hope so. I did buy them.”

Stella turned back over so she was facing him again. And then she quickly brought a hand to her mouth, covering it.

“Oh my God, I didn’t brush my teeth either!”

The words came out slightly garbled through her hand, but he got what she was saying.

“Yes, well, you also promptly passed out on my couch after we made it through only one episode ofNew Girl,” he said. “Had I known I’d worn you out so thoroughly, I would’ve simply brought you straight back to bed after our shower.”
