With a roar of my own, I spread my wings wide and let loose a blast of flames.
The world incinerates into a pile of ash.
Everyone who thought to take our mate from us deserves what fate has in store for them—total annihilation.

FELICIA
Igave as good as I got, taking down many of the fuckers who thought to capture me, but I was no match for their numbers. I maimed and killed a dozen of them, but they just kept coming.
That’s how I ended up locked in another cage.
I consider fighting, summoning the fire again so I can escape, but I resist the urge. As much as my males are prehistoric cavemen, my instincts are screaming that they need me.
So, I sit in my fucking cave like a good little female and wait for my mates, part of me wondering whether they will actually come to my rescue, or if they’ll decide to leave me to rot like everyone else in my life.
Then, the roar of a dragon splits the air.
One.
Two.
Three.
It’s enough to make the floors and walls tremble, sending people screaming, and I can’t help but smile.
The entitled assholes scramble for cover, some going as far as to shift, fighting each other in their mad rush to flee.
“You fucking bitch. This is all because of you.” Gresky storms toward me, murder darkening his expression. “You’ve ruined everything!”
I flash him a mocking smile, feeling my fangs sharpen as they drop and lengthen. This man’s greed nearly destroyed my life, and now he’s trying to take away my future as well.
I’m done sitting back and doing nothing.
I’m no longer a child.
This time, I will fight back.
I set my hands on the bars, gritting my teeth when magic nips at my flesh. I know from experience that the longer I grip the bars, the worse the pain gets, but I refuse to give up. Heat gathers in my palms, and the bars drip as they practically liquefy.
No need to defeat the spell when removing the cell makes it irrelevant.
Gresky comes to an abrupt halt as the cage around me melts, the first hint of unease finally registering on his face, and I click my tongue. “You’ve been a very bad boy. For years, you’ve helped yourself to things that don’t belong to you. Destroyed people’s lives. For greed. For power. Now it’s time for you to pay for your sins.”
His green eyes burn with hatred, and a snarl twists his features. “You’ve destroyed everything. I let you live, practically raised you. If you think you’re going to take me down, then you’re a fool. I won’t go alone.”
Power gathers around him, the very air being sucked toward him.
His bones snap and crunch as he shifts, until I’m facing off against a giant wolf that’s nearly as tall as my shoulders. He snarls, his snout curling to reveal fangs as big as my fingers.
Fuck.
But instead of retreating, I hold my ground. Gresky and his son have been the main characters in my nightmares for years, and it’s about time to get rid of them permanently—or die trying.
The wolf hunkers down, his hindquarters bunching, and I brace myself, waiting for the five hundred pounds of muscle to slam into me, waiting to feel his teeth rip and tear at my flesh.
Just as the beast leaps into the air, a shadow passes overhead, and I glance up—
