He gently rests his hands on her knees, but waits for her permission. My kitten squirms, and I bite back a growl when she presses enticingly against my cock. As much as I want to lift her skirt and pound into her, marking her with my scent, I resist, knowing I wouldn’t let her go once I started.

Jolie hesitates only a moment, then grabs her skirt and slowly drags it up her legs. At the temptation, my claws slice through the tips of my fingers, my wolf fighting against the need to shred the material keeping her from our gaze.

Castle yanks off his tie, pours water from a bottle over the tip, and dutifully cleans her. The instant the cold water touches her pussy, she jolts, then moans at the soothing sensations. Only when she’s thoroughly clean does Castle drop the tie, then bends forward and licks her from ass to clit.

She rides his face like an angel, and I quickly grab Jolie, allowing him to finish eating every delicious drop of her. Unable to resist, I reach forward and pinch her nipples, and I’m jealous of the fucker when she orgasms an instant later. Castle pulls back, his chin glistening, and he licks it clean with a smirk.

Lucky prick!

Before we can get into any more trouble, the vehicle slows. A glance out the window says that we have arrived. Jolie doesn’t take Castle to task as he resumes his seat next to us, the high blush on her cheeks giving her a gorgeous, just fucked look.

It’s perfect, reminding anyone who looks in her direction that she’s taken.

When the SUV comes to a stop, I don’t wait for the driver and exit first, checking for any threats. My wolf is riding me hard with the need to toss Jolie over my shoulder and find some cave where no one would ever find us. Unfortunately, vampires live a long fucking time. Knowing that they would eventually hunt us down and take her keeps me rooted to the spot.

If we don’t do this now, she will become nothing but a pawn, and that doesn’t sit right with me. She’s a fucking queen, one who will save us from the darkness spreading over the world. Without her, we are doomed.

Only when our guards have us surrounded do I lean back into the vehicle and offer Jolie my hand. She steps out confidently, her dress swirling around her as she comes to a stop at my side. Her head is high, a determined expression on her face, and I can’t help but grin down at my beautiful mate.

The rest of the guys follow closely behind, none of us wanting to be far from our mate. With sunlight just a hint on the horizon, we head toward a house full of vipers who will do anything to take her from us.

I nearly snort at the thought.

Let them try.

They will quickly find my claws in their chest. My wolf howls in excitement at the thought of ripping out some vampire hearts, and I smile, my fangs on full display, eager for the coming fight. I’m done with this nonsense, more than ready to take my mate home and focus on what’s important—claiming her again and again until she can’t walk straight.

ChapterThirty-Four

JOLIE

As we head up the majestic steps, Milo leans close and whispers so quietly, I know his words are for me alone. “Don’t allow them to bait you. Remember that you’re no longer human. No matter what you see, don’t react. Vampires rule this world, and any softness is seen as weakness.”

I nod, biting the inside of my cheek, not wanting to react outwardly and give anyone watching ammunition. While the large mansion is gorgeous, it’s so sterile that I can practically feel the horrors that occurred behind the closed doors. If I look at the shadows closely, I’d swear the darkness is actually blood bubbling up from all the stains soaked into the building over the centuries.

When I blink, the image is gone, but I can’t get the picture out of my head.

Stanton clears his throat, drawing my attention. “You are the master of the house. We’re just your mates and don’t really have a voice at the gathering. We’re going to do our best not to interfere and let you take the lead.” He shoots reproving glances at the wolves, who don’t react at all.

“Are you sure that’s wise?” I hedge, not sure I trust myself around a bunch of vampires.

A grin takes over Stanton’s face, giving him a roguish look that melts my heart…and panties, if I were wearing any. “You have the power here. You don’t know the procedures and protocols. It will leave them unbalanced and uncertain what to expect. You’re going to be perfect. If you need us, we’ll be right at your side.”

Slightly reassured, I nod and follow them up the rest of the steps.

Even before we reach the door, it’s thrown open, and we head straight inside. The room practically breathes wealth, the walls covered in portraits of strangers captured on the canvases throughout the centuries. A chill seeps into me from the white marble floors, the air so old that it tastes almost stale. I can’t help but wonder if it’s from the antique furniture, or if the smell is from all the dead people who never learned to stay dead.

“If you follow me, the others are waiting.” The snooty old butler gives a sniff, like he smells something bad, then glances at the guards behind me. “They aren’t allowed in the house. Your guards must wait outside.”

Without waiting for a response, he spins on his heel and strides down the hallway. I glare at the snooty asshole, pissed that he would treat shifters like they have no control and might pee on his furniture or something.

Castle doesn’t look pleased but directs the guards outside anyway. A diabolical look enters Tobias’ eyes, a warning that says he’s tempted to whip out his dick and water the plants sitting by the door, and I smother a laugh.

Stanton casts us a severe look that has Tobias pouting. The instant Stanton looks away, Tobias bares his fangs at the crusty butler, and I can’t help but agree with his assessment.

As we head farther into the house, the echoes of our footfalls are the only thing that can be heard. It’s a little disconcerting, especially when it feels like the house itself is alive and watching us with malevolent eyes. The butler scurries ahead and throws open the double doors to a grand ballroom, then steps back and allows us to enter.

The room is drenched in gold and red, the colors so bold that they give off an oppressive feeling that something bad is about to happen. Large floor to ceiling windows are on either side of the room, covered in curtains so thick that not even a speck of light dares to penetrate the room.
