“It sounds to me like he cheated,” Tighe countered, his face pinching. “There’s no honor in that. A fight should be fair.”
“You’re right.” Instead of feeling bitter or worried for Niall, Silas sincerely wanted the best for them. “They don’t matter anymore. I wasn’t meant to be with Niall, I was meant to find you and protect you from whatever it is this evil warlock has planned.”
A soft hum wafted from Tighe as his other hand closed around Silas’s on the bed between them. “I’m good at protecting myself, but what if we looked after each other?” he said and Silas nodded.
“I like the sound of that.” They were quiet for a moment before a frown furrowed Tighe’s brow. “What’s wrong?” Silas asked, earning a reluctant sigh from Tighe.
“You’d rather sleep by yourself and I’d rather sleep outside but Nox and Merlin said it’s too dangerous.”
Silas shook his head, immediately panicked at the thought of more demons or some other evil stealing Tighe from them. “That’s not true—I swear—and pleasedon’t. I want you to stay and Iwant you,but the last twenty-four hours have been intense. Especially for you, Tighe. This has to feel like another planet.”
“It does,” Tighe agreed. “But I forget about how trapped I feel and I don’t miss the night sky and the smell of trees when I’m with you.”
It took Silas a moment, his heart raced and there was a knot in his throat. He had a feeling it was hope and that he could berushing headfirst into heartache again. But what if this was real and he was right this time, that they were meant for each other?
“Please stay.” Silas pulled Tighe’s hands to his lips and kissed them. “I feel better when you’re here, where I can see you. I was so worried we wouldn’t find you in time and now I’m worried about what we’ve gotten you into,” he said, wincing. “You didn’t deserve to be kidnapped and thrown into this messy, modern world by a gang of witches and hellhounds and changelings. At least I’ve had a few weeks to adjust.”
“They seem nice, though,” Tighe whispered and was pensive as he chewed on his lip. “I can trust them if you say they’re good people.”
“We can trust them. The professor and Agent Nelson were all over the news a few years ago when some girls were taken by a cult. One of the girls was killed but they rescued the rest and found most of the people involved. But from what I understand, this Hugh Dùbhghlas has been hurting people and making monsters because he wants to get rid of Nox.”
Tighe humphed seriously and gave a firm nod. “I don’t know how, but I want to help. I don’t like it here and I want to go back but I’ll do whatever I can to help stop him.”
“Me too,” Silas said, sealing their pact with a kiss.
They whispered for close to an hour but eventually drifted off to sleep. For Silas, it was the first dreamless, peaceful night in weeks. He was no longer tormented by the vision and the relentless need to find Tighe before it was too late.
Silas was smiling when he woke up, just as the sun was rising, but his deep, dreamless peace was immediately replaced with lust and hunger. His hand was curled tight around an asscheek and Tighe’s naked body was draped over Silas’s. The soft wafting of Tighe’s breath feathered against Silas’s neck, adding to his torment. He tried to shift his hips and slide out from under himbut Tighe growled softly and wound an arm and a leg around Silas.
“Hey…” Silas reluctantly released Tighe’s ass and gave his hair a tussle.
There was another drowsy growl as Tighe nuzzled Silas’s neck and inhaled deeply. “Mmmm… Is it morning already?” His lips dragged along Silas’s jaw and over his chin. He sucked on Silas’s lip, then purred as their tongues twisted.
It felt like a dream and too good to be true as they rolled and Silas’s pajama pants were shoved off and kicked away. He slid lower and licked along Tighe’s clavicle and lapped at his armpit and Silas was lost, he had to touch and taste anything he could get his mouth on. After years of wishing and waiting and wondering if he was wanted, Silas reveled in the instant and intense animal attraction and feral desire.
He bit and scratched and Tighe’s fingers twisted in Silas’s hair, guiding him lower. Silas forgot about his fear and his plan to take it easy and slow with Tighe. That all went out the window as Silas greedily licked Tighe’s sac and into the cleft of his ass. Silas shifted lower and held Tighe open, swearing in delight and sucking loudly.
“More! Please!” Tighe held on to Silas’s hair as he begged and rode his tongue.
Silas slid a finger into Tighe’s ass and groaned at how tight and hot he felt. He had just enough sense left to remember there was lube in the bedside table. “Open that drawer,” he said with a quick nod at it. “Clear bottle,” he managed between licks. The bottle landed next to Silas’s elbow and he opened it and coated his fingers.
He carefully worked two into Tighe’s clenching heat and reached deep as he twisted. “It doesn’t hurt! I like that!” Tighe said and Silas paused.
“You were expecting it to hurt?” he asked, earning a shrug from Tighe.
“In the beginning. It usually does.”
“Right…” Silas frowned at the bottle, most likely Tighe’s first encounter with commercial lubricant. The fog was lifting and his instincts urged him to slow down again. “Have you…done this before?”
Tighe nodded drunkenly and let out a frustrated moan as he bucked beneath Silas. “Not since I left my pack but I used to. Often.”
“Did you have someone?” Silas asked, then bit his lip for being nosy and feeling jealous.
“No. I wasn’t well-liked there, but we would lay with each other whenever we felt the need.”
“Really?” Silas blurted, shaking his head at himself and what he was hearing.
Tighe made another impatient sound so Silas curled his fingers and felt for his prostate.
