“It’s hard for her to trust a man, but I’m sure you’ll prove her wrong, like you did with me.” I smile coyly at him.

“Let’s go.” He takes my hand and leads me toward his car.

“Where?”

“Remember when I told you that’s for me to know and for you to find out?” I laugh. Of course, I do.

We arrive at the fateful summit in the cliffs of Monaco. The place that marked the beginning of us somehow. The place he shared only with me and his brother. And now we’re back at the top of the world, where it’s only us. We walk toward the edge of the rock. The highest point on the cliff. This time, I stand up, even if just a few steps farther I would be stepping into the void. When I focus on the horizon, I’m still afraid—most of my body is trembling, but now, I’m not alone anymore.

Aaron is behind me, his arms encircling my waist. I pull both of my hands in the air, my hair wild with the breeze. I feel free. Like a bird who just found her freedom after being caged for so long.

Like I could finally fly.

With him.

I chuckle. I’m not weak anymore. I’ve found my way back to myself. Aaron squeezes me closer to him before kissing my neck. “You’re not afraid anymore?”

“I am. But you’re here, I know you won’t let me down.”

And that’s how, on top of the world, we share an everlasting kiss. He possesses me like the first time, sending shivers in my whole body.

Inflaming me.

Enthralling me.

Enrapturing me.

An eternal addiction. A need.

He catches me into his arms, carrying me to the white myrtle tree. The tree of Aphrodite. A symbol of love.

“Remember the other day when I told you I love you?” His eyes are locked to mine while we take a seat on the grass.

My lips part, my heart leaping, as my eyes grow wild and impatient. “Yes. I remember.”

“Well, I do, Elle. I love you.”I love you. Those words hit my soul so deep, it feels like a dream. I’m in heaven.

I jump into his arms, kissing him fully while his back hits the wild grass, and I fall on top of him. I giggle, biting my lower lip and looking over my fallen god. He pulls my hair away from my face, scanning my whole soul with a light smile. Seeing myself through his eyes, I feel gorgeous. Significant. Eternal.

“I love you, Elle. I love all of you, for everything that makes you, you. I love you deeply and fully, and fuck, it feels so good telling you this.” My eyes sparkle as he cups my jaw to seal his declaration with a kiss. “You always have been significant. And I’m so fucking lucky to have your love.”Gosh, don’t cry, Elle. “You’re mine eternally, and I’m yours.”

“I love you too, Aaron.” Two broken people. Two souls for whom love was something impossible. A god-like man and a mortal who succeeded in finding happiness. An Eros and Psyché type of love.

Passionate.

World-shaking.

Boundless.

“Live with me,ma belle. I want to wake up next to you. I want to have you close. I don’t care if it’s in New York or Monaco. I want you to travel around the world with me, while we both do what we love.” His face serious, the lone Wolf who couldn’t let anyone in his intimacy offers me everything I could possibly ever dream of. I nuzzle into his neck, knowing there is only one answer to his question.

Yes.

And just like him, I’d go everywhere he goes, because he’s my home.

My significant.

The other part of my soul.
