Son of a bitch, that hurt.

“If you would have let me help you,” Honk mutters as he takes a seat next to me.

I don’t know what the hell happened when I was out, but the man has done a one-eighty where I’m concerned. He’s all forHarlee and me being together and has been hovering over me ever since I woke up.

Harlee’s just as bad.

Between the two of them, I haven’t had a moment alone in days.

Brothers start to filter into the room.

“Should you be up yet?” Colt asks.

“Evelyn said it was fine.”

Hades shakes his head. “She said that you could get up and walk around the room but to take it easy. You lost your spleen three days ago, and that’s not counting the other damage that knife did,” Hades says.

“Who invited you again?” I half joke.

Reaper walks in and shuts the door behind him. We all fall silent as he moves toward his place and takes a seat.

He bangs his gavel once before he looks up. “First order of business, I again would like to congratulate Bullet on surviving. I am under strict instructions from my girl to tell you that you are never allowed to get hurt again. Everyone give it up for Bullet.”

The brothers go wild, hooting and hollering.

I raise my hand and wave it off.

“It’s not a big deal,” I tell them when they quiet down.

“It is, and we all know it. Own it, brother. Not many people can say they’ve been hurt the way you have twice and came out the other side of it,” Midnight tells me.

I tip my head in acknowledgment.

“Okay, second order of business. We have Adalyn hidden away at a safe house. Dansworth is still in the wind as well, so it’s not safe for her. We need to move her from the safe house, though, since it was on loan. Does anyone have any recommendations on what we should do with her?” Reaper asks.

“We could send her to Texas. I’m sure Savage would take her in,” Colt says, referring to his cousin, who is also the president of the San Antonio chapter.

“We could even send her to Chicago,” Kicks says.

“We could, but do we want to risk sending trouble to another chapter’s doorstep? She’s his daughter. He will look for her,” Hades adds.

“We could always set her up with a new identity and send her to somewhere on the East Coast,” I say.

Harlee would probably hate it, but she would deal.

Trigger nods. “I could set everything up. It wouldn’t be hard, but if we aren’t willing to send her to another chapter because she’s in danger, do we really want to send her off by herself?”

The guys mutter in agreement.

Honk clears his throat. “I have an idea.”

We all turn to look at him.

“We’re listening,” Reaper tells him.

“What if she stayed with me?”

“You want her to stay with you?” I ask slowly, unsure that I heard him right.
