Emma extends her hand and he shakes it. “It’s nice to meet you, Liam, I’ve heard a lot about you.”

“Don’t believe a word of it,” he says, laughing. “It’s nice to finally meet you.”

Shaking my head at him, I grin. “Let’s get this stuff ready for the grill.” Turning to Emma I give her a wink. “You need anything?”

“You can let us help,” she says, walking in the house ahead of us.

“Damn, I like her,” Liam says, laughing.

The party isin full swing. Everyone is having a good time and it’s amazing to see so many people here. The ranch hasn’t seen a party in a long time and it makes me happy to see it happening once again.

“Hey,” I say, wrapping my arms around Emma.

She’s talking with Aubrey, Liam, and a couple of guys Liam works with. She’s been incredible tonight. Helping when I needed it, talking to people, and never once complaining I’ve been all over the place. It’s just making me fall harder for her.

“Hey,” she says, smiling.

“So, how long have you two been together,” Robert, one of Liam’s friends ask.

“A while now,” Emma says.

It makes my pulse race and I tighten my hold on her. “I’m one lucky son of a bitch.”

We continue talking for a while with the drinks flowing. I’m feeling good and I know Emma is because she’s constantly touching me. I’m sure as fuck not complaining.

“When we were kids, Drake and I used to hang out in the woods often. We’d sneak back there and make out with chicks,” Liam says, laughing.

“Oh you did, huh?” Emma asks.

“Yep,” I say with a devilish grin.

The next hour or so, Emma sits on my lap as we talk to whoever sits by us. It’s fucking unbelievable how comfortable I am with her and how comfortable she seems to be with me. I’ve never had this with anyone. It’s not just the sex, it’s everything. Just hanging out drinking like this and talking. No one’s ever had my attention like she does and I don’t think she knows it.

Kissing her neck softly, I let my fuzzy thoughts take over. “Let’s take a walk,” I whisper in her ear.

Grabbing her hand once we stand up, I lead her to the barn. Opening the door we step inside and I pull her to me. Wrapping my arms around her, I press my lips to hers. She tastes like vodka and I moan when my tongue touches hers. She pulls at my hair and hikes her leg up onto my hip.

Fuck. Breaking the kiss, I try to compose myself. I want to talk to her before I fuck her in this barn. Seeing the disappoint on her face makes my stomach sink.

“Hey,” I say, running my hand down her cheek. “I just think we need to talk for a minute before I strip you down and make you come in this barn.”

She blushes and looks down at the ground. “Oh.”

“Emma,” I gently say, lifting her head up to look at me.

The only light we have is the moon coming in the barn door and she looks absolutely beautiful with it bounces off of her. My heart is pounding in my chest, which is ridiculous. It’s just I’ve never in my life felt this way and I’m about to confess it. Time for some truth.

“I’ve caught feelings for you, Emma Bower,” I say, my chest tightening a bit.

A tear I didn’t expect, runs down her face and I quickly wipe it away with my thumb.

“I’ve caught feelings for you too, Drake Grayson,” she whispers.

“I’ve never felt this way about anyone. You bring out all the good in me,” I confess.

Her smile is breathtaking as she wraps her arms around my neck. “I’ve never felt this way either. You make me feel things I didn’t even know were possible.”
