Her cheeks tint to the perfect shade of pink and a very slight smile hits her lips. “Okay.”
“Professor Grayson,” another student interrupts.
Fuck.
I drop Emma’s hand and run my hand through my hair. “Just leave it on my desk,” I say and walk away.

Walkingthrough the campus to get to my truck, I’m so damn relieved it’s Friday. I need the damn weekend to get my head clear. I need to get drunk, have some fun, and forget about this place for a while.
“Hey Drake.”
Glancing behind me, I see Trent Rearden. He’s the girls soccer coach and a history professor. Great guy, fun to hang out with too. Definitely more like me than most of the professors that work here.
“Hey Trent, what’s up?”
I wait until he catches up to me and he slaps my back. “Not much, man. Going home to grab something to eat and need to head back for some training.”
“That’s how you’re spending your Friday night, huh?” I ask with a grin.
“It’s not so bad and will be worth it when the season starts. What are you up to tonight?”
“Getting drunk somewhere,” I say, laughing.
It’s a warm day, which means a lot of students are outside. So, I’m not surprised when a football nearly takes my head off. Assholes. I catch it though, and throw it back just as hard. The girls who are there are easily impressed, but the guys, well they hate me anyway.
“Christ, you forget how much of an asshole you were at that age,” Trent says.
Shaking my head in agreement, we continue our walk. “Yeah, well you know they all think I’m fucking their girls.”
I tell him about Kelsey and he said it’s happened a few times to him too. Not just with her, but a bunch of girls. This is why I need to squash these thoughts I have about Emma. I don’t want the rumors to be true.
“Listen, I’m gonna be done here around eight. Hit me up and let me know where you’re at and I’ll meet you for a drink. It’s been a long fucking week,” he says when we reach the parking lot.
“Cool, you got it. I’ll see you later.”
When I get home, I take a quick shower and I mean quick. As soon as I got in and the water was pounding on me I started to think of how good it felt to touch Emma. How damn sexy she is and how responsive she was to my touch. My cock was getting hard, so I turned the shower cold and got the fuck out.
Liam called and said he wanted to talk about my estimate, so we’re going to get something to eat and then head to the bar in town. Not the damn university pub. Liam is going to have settle for women our age tonight.
Parking my truck outside the diner, I grab a cigarette before getting out. Once I am, I light it and lean against my truck waiting on Liam. Staring at the diner, it takes me back to when I was younger. All the nights I spent here when I was in high school. Laughing with friends and trying to pick up girls. It was always so much fun. I remember one night bringing my brother with me. He was probably around twelve at the time and so excited to be hanging out with me. He climbed in the booth next to the girl that Liam was dating. I chuckled and sat across from them knowing when Liam got back he’d try to get Braylin to move. I watched my little brother trying his damn hardest to flirt with her and I couldn’t wait until he was old enough to really hang out with us. I knew he was going to be a lot of fun and I was right. I was also right about Liam trying to get him to move and when he refused the girl rubbed his little head and told Liam he had competition. Braylin’s smile was fucking classic as he put his hand on hers.
“Hey bro,” Liam says, pulling me back to the present.
Snapping my head up, I scrub my face. “Come on let’s get this over with so we can go get drunk.” I suddenly have no urge to be here.
After we get our food he gets down to business. Walking me through everything that needs to be done and the expenses. How long he thinks it should take and when he can start.
“So, if you’re good with everything, I’ll get the ball rolling and we’ll get started next week,” he says, biting into his burger.
“Honestly, I expected it to be more, so yeah, let’s get it going.”
He laughs and wipes his mouth with a napkin. “This is just an estimate, don’t be surprised when it goes up. I told you there are going to be a lot of surprises.”
Nodding my head, I finish my burger. “Yeah I know, I’m cool with it. I just need it done.”
“Cool. Monday I’ll get it all rolling. How was your study group today?” he asks, wiggling his eyebrows.
