Sage is off to the side, on her phone. The moment I’m done; the staff members scatter like cockroaches under light.
“What should we do next,” Artur looks around rubs his hands together.
I offer a smile. “Whatever you want. No fucking the dancers.”
My reply has fallen on deaf ears and I roll my eyes. Refocusing on Sage who has not paid attention the entire time. She doesn’t notice me when I approach. I’m annoyed, I want her attention. Why, I’m not sure because I’ve had plenty of looks from the dancers and the bartenders.
“Well…”
She doesn’t look up and the odor coming off her is horrendous. She smells like pure liquor. I stoop down and pull her chin up, her eyes are glassy as hell.
They’re redder than a devil’s dick too.
“I can’t get rid of you,” she says and then a hiccup leaves her. The force of her diaphragm keeping up with her body makes her shake.
Sage is drunk as a fucking skunk.
“How long have you been drinking like this?” I ask, standing.
I survey the area and no one is watching. My brothers and I all took separate cars. My house will be empty and quiet.
“Not long enough,” Sage manages to look up, but the second she does her phone slips out of her hands.
The girl on the screen appears. It’s her sister Khrystina.
Goddamn it, I think.
“Come on,” I hustle her up.
She shakes me off. “Get the fuck off me.”
Wind glides over my face. I turn and take in the bouncer whose way to protective of my fiancé.
“Boy,” I address him. “Don’t get yourself involved in matters that have nothing to do with you.”
“Gioooooo,” Sage slurs. “Fucking shoot him.”
Gio’s burly physique could cause me a problem. He’s a brawler and perfect in the position he does here at The Crescent.
“She’s my fucking boss,” he states.
“And she’s my fiancé,” I tell him. “Don’t be foolish. Do you know who I am?”
He nods.
“Then you know, what’s left of your family here won’t last if you go against me.”
Sage at this point has slipped into the floor. She’s a fucking wreck, the black skirt is up around her waist and her perfect ass is bare for all to see. My breath hitches in my throat and Gio can’t help himself. He picks her up with ease, ignoring my words.
A long sigh comes out. “Take her to my car.”
He nods and out into the cold he goes. Picking up Sage’s phone I tuck it into my suit jacket. I look over my shoulder and everyone has noticed the exchange. This was not how I’d planned on this going but fuck it.
Taking out my phone, I hit my assistant up via text.
