“You both need to stop it now!”
Finn continued to ignore her. Taking hold of Jonathan’s hand earlier showed where her loyalty lay.
“Seems you’re a bit thick,” Jonathan ventured.

“You’re the one foolish enough to come here and kiss another man’s wife. Maybe you should return to Seattle like a good little boy and wait until she calls.” Finn wouldn’t let this piece of shit come here and try to destroy all he had built – and was still trying to build – with his wife. He wouldn’t back down for anyone who threatened his marriage.
Jonathan boldly took a step forward until he was in Finn’s personal space with a scowl like thunder on his face.
“I think you’re the one interrupting, and you need to leave right now!”
Finn had half a mind to punch this asshole in the face for touching his wife and then entering his personal space. The two men stood toe to toe, but the only similarity was their height. They were as different as night and day. Finn was white with a lean, muscular build with dark hair, while Jonathan was bulkier with blond hair. Jonathan was bald with a beard, while Finn’s face was cleanly shaven. Finn also realized that Jonathan talked a lot. He was all noise and no action. Finn’s quiet presence was more dominating. Finn didn’t view this chatterbox as a threat at all.
“I’ll leave as soon as you tell Kalilah the truth.”
He fumbled, shifted somewhat, and took a small step backwards.
“I have no idea what you mean, you wretched bastard. I do know you’re jealous you couldn’t make her happy and now you don’t want her to be happy with me.”
“Oh, I think I’ve been making her very happy,” Finn replied with rising amusement.
“Yeah, like she’ll ever be happy with husband that wasn’t going to marry her if there was no company to sweeten the deal.”
Finn kept a straight face; both he and Lilah knew the truth of what happened five years ago.
Jonathan pressed on with a wide smile.
“You see, I know all about how you tried to use her and now she’s happy with someone else and it just eats you up doesn’t it?”
“You bet it does. Now please explain to her why you’ve been in Montréal these past two months and you’re only now showing up on her doorstep.” Kalilah turned to look at Jonathan this time and caught the brief flicker in his eyes.
“Jonathan, is that true?”
“All things are uncertainties when evidence is not presented.” Finn said. “As much as I’d like to stay here and listen to you try to wiggle your way out of answering, I can’t. I’m a busy man with a company that needs managing.” He turned away from them, and with one last glance directed at Kalilah, and a nod at Kaiya, he headed for the door.
“Think I’ll leave as well. Give you two some privacy.” Kaiya left.
Kalilah disentangled her hand from Jonathan’s and moved to the couch.
“The son of a bitch has balls, waltzing in here like he owned the place. “
“I asked you a question. How long have you been in the country?”
“Why was he even here, Kalilah?” he asked, his voice filled with anger. He was deliberately avoiding her question.
She ignored his question and asked him again if what Finn said was true. Jonathan paused his rant.
“Of course it isn’t true. I drove into the city last night. It took me almost two days drive to get up here.”
“So why would Finn say that then?”
“Angel, it’s obvious that he doesn’t want to lose you, so he’ll say anything to hurt us.”
She mulled over what he said and decided to accept it for now. However, in her mind, something still wasn’t right. She didn’t think Finn would ever lie to her, but then again Jon had never lied to her either.
