Mae didn’t know what was going on right now.Life was way too short, and she knew that after losing so many of her family—her parents, then her grandmother, followed by her grandfather.Loss was painful, but it also made you realize how short life was.
She had no idea what she and Caleb had.He was the town bad boy.Every woman wanted him, and right now, he was sitting opposite her, trying to convince her to have more with him.

That is what she wanted.

Emily had stopped by for lunch and even hinted that there was nothing wrong with having a little fun, if that was what she wanted.
Mae couldn’t deny it.She wanted Caleb.

Caleb laughed.“Not at all.I like it.It makes me feel less like a stalker.”
This made her smile.
“I do have some rules,” she said.
He groaned.“Babe, I’m not good with rules.”
“Hear them out, you never know, there might be some you agree with.”
He shrugged, and then nodded.“Go ahead.”
“No cheating,” Mae said.“You want to have another woman, that’s fine, but you end this with me.I don’t care if this is casual, I won’t be sleeping with you, and you with other women.You want anyone else, we’re done.”
“The same goes for all men,” he said.
“I won’t be sleeping around.That is not my style.”
“Fair enough.”It was something he couldn’t argue with.“What else?”he asked.
Mae tried to think, but the truth was, the only thing she could think about was him sleeping around.
“One more thing.”
“You’re not going to give me a whole list?”Caleb asked.“You don’t want to start telling me how you want me to dress?Who you want me to talk to?”
“No, I don’t care about any of that.Okay, one more thing.Don’t fall in love with me,” she said.
Caleb looked at her.“Huh?”
“You heard me.This is casual sex, so don’t start getting any ideas about what might or might not happen.”She smirked at him, because she knew she had taken him by surprise.
“Fine, I will not fall in love with you.You do surprise me, Mae.You do know who you’re dealing with, don’t you?”he asked.
“Yeah, but I guess the real question is, do you know whoyou’redealing with?”Mae asked.
