“Damien,” she whispers, “I want that so much.”
Our foreheads meet, we’re looking into each other’s eyes, and yea this woman right here in my arms she’s special, a special I want to take care of.
“Gonna take you home now, call you tomorrow. Take you out, wine and dine you,” I murmur.
She gets off of my lap, pulling her dress down as she stands. I have the best view in the whole fucking world. Her legs are a work of art, and I know once I get between them, they’ll look even better wrapped around me.
I take my hand in hers and we head to my Jeep. When I ask for directions to her house she simply says. “I live above the shop, it makes life much easier during our busy time of the year.”
“I guess it does.”
“I mean it’s not ideal, but for now, I’m happy where I am, and it allows me to save money this way too,” she replies.
We reach her place, I walk around to the passenger side and help her out. We walk up to her back stoop and as much as I don’t want to leave, I know I have to.
“See you soon, Gorgeous,” I tell her as I kiss her forehead. If I start kissing her now, we’ll never stop, and I’ll have her inside her home on the nearest, flattest surface in only a matter of moments.
“See you tomorrow, Damien.”
She turns and walks into her apartment. I wait till I hear the locks click into place and then head back to my jeep. I turn around and see her light come on and she’s waving goodbye. It hurts my chest seeing her on the other side of the wall. I give her a grin and a one finger salute before heading home myself.
When I get back to my place, it feels empty. It’s never felt this empty or lonely before, but I guess that’s what happens when you meet someone you know deep in your soul is meant to be yours.
I strip down to my boxers, grabbing my phone before sliding into bed. My last thought is to text Amelia.
Night Gorgeous, I’ll see you soon.
The bubbles showing up on my end tells me she’s responding, and I smirk when I see what she responds with.
Goodnight, sleep tight, and I’ll see you when the sun is shining bright.
xoxo
I put my phone down and fall asleep with a goofy ass smile on my face.
Chapter Eight
Amelia
I’m working on a floral arrangement for a wedding anniversary when my phone chimes, alerting me there’s a new text.
Amelia,
See you tonight. I’ll be at your place at 8.
I’m giggling, like a teenager on a first date. The smile on my face couldn’t be more ridiculous, but who would have thought Damien would give me the time of day after raising all kinds of hell when he was pursuing me. I immediately respond to him.
I can’t wait.
