“Yeah?” The song hurt to listen to. There was a lot of their pain in the words, but there was good too. “I guess I’ll have to go look it up on their radio website.”

“I guess you do.”

“Logan?”

“Izzy?”

She smiled. “I gotta go.”

“Yeah, me too. I’ll see you in a few days.”

“I’m heading out to the Berkshires for an auction today, but I’ll be back tonight. So if I can’t text it’s because I’m in the mountains.”

“Thanks for letting me know.”

“I love you.”

“Ah, babe. I never get tired of hearing that.”

“Have a good show. I’ll see you in two days.”

“Two days. A fucking eternity.”

She laughed. “Go away. I’m saying goodbye.”

“I’m going.”

“Hang up.”

“If he says, ‘no, you hang up’, then I’m going to puke,” Sarah said from outside her door. “We’re wasting daylight, slug. Let’s go.”

Logan whistled. “Jesus, you weren’t kidding.”

“The joy of my life. I’ll talk to you tomorrow.”

“Bye, Iz.”

She stood up. And because Sarah didn’t know that she was going to be road-tripping today, she went to take a shower to save time. Her bodyguard could wait twenty minutes. No matter what she said.

By the time she went downstairs, it was closer to eleven. “Sorry. I have a work thing. I had to get ready.”

“Then we’ll talk in the car.”

“Sounds good.” Bella moved to the skinny cabinet above her Keurig and pulled down a travel mug. “I have to go to the Berkshires.”

“More driving. Yay.”

“Do we get a discount on the sass or is it just a perk?”

“Definitely a perk.”

“I like you better this way.” Bella said and grabbed her caramel creamer from the fridge. “And you’ll fit in better.”

“Is that right?”

“I was thinking about this in the shower.”

“Should I be worried that you were thinking about me in the shower? That definitely isn’t part of the bodyguard package.”
