“My pocket just shook,” I laughed.
He wrapped his arms around me, and those nearly black eyes flashed. “Are you saying that I make you shake?”
“Yes,” I whispered.
“You are dangerous,” he said very seriously.
I tried to smirk but was suddenly too nervous. Clearing my throat, I said, “I’ll have you know that in some circles I am considered a very respectable lady.”
“You’re just waiting,” he said.
“For what?”
“For a life shake up. Isn’t that what you said?”
I was momentarily unnerved. “It’s what I asked the universe for this morning, but I was half joking. Do you think I need shaking?”
“Well, yes. Because a respectable lady doesn’t go walking around in the dark with strange men.”
Looking down for a moment, I thought, well, I suppose he had me there . Tilting my head back up, he was already kissing me. Deep, hard, fast. Overtaking my mouth with his, he held me so tightly I was completely pressed against him. I felt my breasts flattening out against his chest, and his hand slide under the jacket and my shirt to press against my lower back.
My fingers wound into the back of his hair again as I lost my breath, and possibly my mind.
His hand slipped down, just barely inside the back of my jeans as if he were going to grab my ass. His other hand moved to the front, skimming over my stomach, my side, and inching upward toward my bra. Our tongues said everything we couldn’t as we both stifled our moans, wishing we were naked and not on a sidewalk. His hips pressed against mine and I felt things were definitely stirring deep within for him as well. I heard myself make a tiny choked cry, and he stopped, pulling back. He kissed my forehead. “I know, Keira. I want you so much.”
“Come inside,” I muttered in a breathless whisper.
“No. We just met.”
“We don’t have to...”
He chuckled lightly. “Yeah, but I don’t have that much self-control. Come on now.” He looked at me strangely. “Please, may I just hold you for a moment? Just so I can imagine?”
The way his body was wrapped mine around mine was practically indecent, but I didn’t care. I was flooded with thoughts of us naked, sharing ourselves completely.
He shifted his hips against mine slightly, and I almost gasped. I needed to feel him inside me. I needed to scream his name and lose all time and feel my energy shattering as I came under his touch. It was so raw and intimate that I swear I could feel what he was thinking, and shivers of electricity were running through me. I’ve never experienced absolute lust like this before. It was so powerful it was terrifying.
“Not tonight,” he smiled, pulling away. “I just wanted to let my mind wander for a moment.” Cupping my chin in his hand, he kissed me softly. “Go inside and get some sleep. I’ll see you tomorrow.”
I slipped off his jacket and handed it to him. “Okay. Goodnight, Jack.” I turned to go inside, digging for my keys.
“Wait,” he said. I spun around to face him again, hoping for another kiss. “Where the hell am I? I’ve never hung out in this neighborhood. Where’s a good corner to get a cab? My ride apps are all set to Vancouver.”
I pointed while giggling. “Turn left at that corner and you’ll see the lights at St. Clair. Walk there, then go right and you’ll see Yonge Street in a few blocks.”
“Thanks. Catch you tomorrow, gorgeous librarian.”
I could feel my cheeks burning as I let myself inside. A funny, fascinating rock star who reads and is actually smart thinks I’m gorgeous, and can’t wait to see me again tomorrow. This was unnatural.
A lot of that ‘Put your ideas and intentions into the universe and they’ll come back to you’ stuff is utter fantasy, but maybe... I shook my head. Sleep first, then assess the vibrations of the universe over coffee.
I went to set the alarm on my phone, then remembered that I had tomorrow off. My long weekend, thank goodness. I checked the text from Jack.
Jack: Looking forward to tomorrow, sweet Keira girl.
I texted back immediately.
Me: Sweet dreams, cute singer boy.
