Cole stormed into the hospital slamming the doors as he went. Aidan was there, outside, in waiting room and Cole looked at him seeing he was covered in blood. Maddie’s blood.

“Where is she?” Cole asked him.

“In surgery.” Aidan replied.

Cole nodded before looking at the blood all over him again.

“Go home Aidan. You’ve done good today. Get yourself cleaned up.” Cole said.

“If it’s all the same I’d rather stay. Just until she’s out.” He replied and Cole frowned before nodding. It wasn’t like it was going to make much difference anyway, he thought, she’d probably be in there for a few hours if not longer.

Brandon appeared looking between them and sat down on the plastic bench.

“We tracked the helicopter.” Brandon said.

“Where too?” Cole asked back.

“A field in Kent. By the time we got there Police were all over the scene and the target was long gone.” Brandon replied.

“Again?” Cole snarled and Brandon narrowed his eyes.

“What did you expect? Us to just magic our way there?” He retorted and Cole shook his head.

“This whole thing was a shitshow from start to finish.” Cole muttered.

“You were the one that wanted to send them in remember. I advised caution but you were hell bent on smashing the doors down.” Brandon said.

“Maddie was in there.” Cole yelled. “Your fucking Agent.”

“Not just my Agent though is she?” Brandon snapped back and Cole shook his head. “Besides look what good it did, she’s lying on an operating table right now.”

Cole shook his head again. “I didn’t think he would do it. I didn’t think he would actually pull the trigger.”

Brandon sighed.

“Have you called him?” Brandon asked.

“Who?” Cole asked.

“Her brother.” Brandon replied.

“He’s on his way. He was in Harley Street today so thankfully he’s not too far.” Cole said and Brandon could hear from the tone of his voice he wasn’t thankful for it at all.

“You didn’t cause this Cole.” Brandon stated.

“Thanks for confirming that.” Cole snapped before looking up as Becky walked up to them all, her hands laden with coffee.

“Figured we could all do with this.” She said handing the cups out. “How’s she doing?”

“Not heard anything yet. She’s only been in an hour so far so got a while yet.” Aidan replied.

Becky looked at him seeing the blood covering his hands and clothes.

“You okay? You’re not injured?” She asked him.

“No I’m good.” He replied before glancing at Cole and Brandon and Becky glanced at them too before moving to sit beside him.

“Do you think she’ll make it?” She half whispered to Aidan.

“She’ll be fine.” Brandon stated before anyone else could answer and Becky looked at Cole, seeing the hard, almost manic look in his eyes as he stared at the wall in front of him and drank his coffee.
