She kicked away from him, shoving him off and pulling herself back to lean against the side of the van. Her breath was catching in her throat and she glared at him then.

The van was moving fast, she could feel it, every turn, every corner.

“What the hell is this?” She said and he just laughed.

“Quit the pretence Mads we both know what’s going on.”

“And what’s that?” She snapped.

He smirked. “How’s the day job eh?”

“What does that mean?”

“You work for BlackWater now, you tell me.” He stated.

She laughed. “I think you’ve got yourself confused there, either that or you’ve taken a severe blow to head and it’s affecting your ability to think…”

“You left Homewell. I know that much.” He said.

“Maybe I decided to cut loose, do my own thing.” She shrugged and he laughed before leaning across and ripping the buttons of her top open as she tried to fight him off.

“Get the fuck off me.” She shouted but he smacked her hard across the face before wrenching the wire off her skin.

“What’s this then Mads eh?” He said holding it up and examining it like it was of immense fascination to him.

Maddie looked at it, and then at him gritting her teeth. She wondered if he got that it wasn’t just recording, that it had a tracking device fitted to it too because he hadn’t crushed it, hadn’t broken it, so it was still working just fine. Fuck it, she thought, he knew now so why keep up the pretence anymore besides at least this way she might still be able to get something, turn this whole shitshow into something worthwhile.

“What do you want then Grant? You’re the one that seems to have all the answers.” She said.

He smirked before flinging the wire into the corner and she hoped it wasn’t damaged on the impact.

“Bet that engagement ring’s looking real good right about now…” He murmured.

She rolled her eyes. “I think you need to get over it mate. I said no and it’ll always be no.”

He laughed before yanking her hair and pulling her roughly to him.

“That’s what you should have said to Cole Black when he asked you to join them. You fucked up there.” He said in her ear.

“Like I’d take career advice from someone like you.” She snapped and he slammed her head hard into the metal of van floor. She half stifled the groan but still felt her head spin and stars danced before her eyes.

“Are they listening right now Mads?” He asked.

“Who?”

“BlackWater. Cole Black.” He stated.

“You’ve got serious issues you know that.” She replied.

He laughed again. “How about we give them something worth listening to eh? For old times’ sake...”

“Fuck you.” She growled as he wrenched her body under him. He ripped her top more and she spat at him before trying to push him off again, digging her nails hard into his skin.

“I like you angry Mads, you’re always way better to fuck when you’re angry.” He stated.

He ran his hands over her and she snarled lashing out. He yanked both her hands above her head with his one hand and ripped her top off fully with the other.

“Damn you get hotter every time I see you.” He said.

“Go to hell.” She retorted.
