She narrowed her eyes walking in, knowing everyone was watching her, everyone above, Brandon, Becky, Douglas, the few analysts Brandon had studying his behaviour, all of them.

Both the Interrogators stood up and she smirked slightly. Yeah they were on the same side but these guys had been arseholes to her too. Had treated her like a god damn murderer and she hadn’t yet forgotten it.

“You want the room?” The Lead asked and she shrugged.

“Sure.” She muttered not looking at Grant, not even bothering to acknowledge him.

They both left and then it was just them. Alone. Just like last time, with what felt like half of BlackWater listening in only thankfully this time he wasn’t touching her, wasn’t ripping her god damn clothes off her.

She sat down, still not looking at him, still not even acknowledging his existence and opened up her sandwich and started eating.

He laughed, a low chuckle that she didn’t respond too.

“Not even gonna say hi Mads? For old times’ sake?” He said.

“I’m on my lunch Grant. I don’t have time to waste on shit like you and there’s no old times sake.” She said still not looking at him.

“Nah? That’s not what you said all those months ago.” He replied leaning towards her now.

“Urgh. Stop kidding yourself. We both know what was really going on.” She said screwing her face up as she looked at him.

“And what’s that?” He grinned.

“You were stitching me up, hiding stuff in my apartment, planting evidence.” She stated.

He smirked. “Is that what I was doing Mads?”

“My only question is why?” Maddie replied.

“Why what? Why did I hide that stuff in your place or why did I pick you?” He asked.

“So it was your decision then, to choose me?” She said.

“No, I was just following orders there.” He stated.

She snorted. “Sure, so someone told you to single me out, is that it?”

“Maybe. Maybe you just fit the bill.” He said smirking.

“What bill?” She asked.

He shrugged but didn’t reply.

“Why did you keep it going so long? You could have gotten in, stashed that stuff and vanished without a trace and I would have been none the wiser.” She stated.

“Where would the fun in that be?” He said grinning.

“Is that what it was to you? Fun?” She couldn’t keep the edge from her voice then

“You enjoyed it Mads, whatever you say now.” He stated.

She rolled her eyes. “And that engagement ring? Was that part of the plan too?” She asked.

His face changed then, momentarily, as if the masked had slipped for a moment.

“Maybe I just liked screwing with you, messing with your head.” He said.

“Right. So is that what the photos were about?” She asked.

“What photos?” He asked.

“The ones in the bunker.” She replied.
